2014 Ticketing Info:

Postby NY Pony » Tue Apr 29, 2014 9:50 am

Word has come down from on high (the ticket office):

In preparation for the 2014-15 SMU Men’s Basketball season, I want to share some information about season ticket renewals and plans for a new premium seating option available for pre-sale to our loyal Mustang Club donors and season ticket holders.

All Men’s Basketball season ticket renewal information will be released in May, with a June renewal deadline. In recognition of your loyalty and support, Mustang Fans who purchased a full season ticket package for the 2013-14 season will be able to renew those seats for the upcoming season and donation requirements for renewed season tickets will not change. New, relocated or upgraded season ticket purchases will require a per seat Mustang Club donation, separate from current Mustang Club donations which may apply to other priority seating areas in Ford and Moody. For your convenience, here are links to a list of Frequently Asked Questions and a Moody seating diagram.

During the off-season, the new Hall of Fame Club, above the east concourse, will be expanded to include a patio and incorporate seating within Moody Coliseum. Providing a unique and distinct game experience, the Hall of Fame Club will offer fans an opportunity to enjoy premium amenities throughout the game and will only be available to those Mustang Club donors and season ticket holders with seats in the Hall of Fame Club (section 208; approximately 120 fans).

The Hall of Fame Club will provide SMU fans with an exclusive spot to gather with friends and associates to enjoy SMU basketball as well as other televised sporting events going on around the country. Buffet service will begin 90 minutes prior to tip-off and dessert/snacks will continue until 1 hour after the game’s conclusion. As throughout Moody Coliseum, beer and wine sales will cease with 15 minutes on the game clock, but will resume following the game. The Hall of Fame Club is available to Mustang Club donors who make a qualifying gift of $5,000 (for 2 seats) or $10,000 (for 4 seats). Season ticket prices for the 18-game 2014-15 season will be $1,000 per seat.

If you are interested in moving your season tickets into the new Hall of Fame Club, please contact the Mustang Club office (214-768-2582) or your development representative by May 1. Since seating in this new area is limited to 120 fans, we will review all requests by our current season ticket holders to move into the Hall of Fame Club before we consider new ticket requests. Availability will be determined based upon Mustang Club giving and donor priority.

On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches and leadership team, I thank you for your enthusiasm and loyal support of SMU Athletics.

Go Mustangs!

Q: Can I add more seats to my current season tickets or improve my season ticket location?
Due to the anticipated high rate of renewal, adding seats near your current seats or improving your current location is unlikely. Any seats added or upgraded will be priced as a new season ticket and subject to the “per seat” donation. To view the 2014-2015 men’s basketball seating chart, click here.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my seats I already have so I don't get hit with an extra $250 donation and a 400% increase on my tix

Buddies and I are confused ... We have seats in 206. Will we have to pay the donation? Email says one thing, PDF implies another.

206 did not have a donation requirement before.

Well at least my pair in sec 206 will not triple in price. Still, they probably double.

I'm fine with doubling if I never have to deal with Garland ever again.

That's how I'm understanding the e-mail. If you had season tickets for the 2013/14 season. The ticket prices for the seats increased. But, you don't have to make the $250 donation. . . Have season tickets in 207, and didn't require a donation. But, I will e-mail the ticket office just before they send out the renewal request for clarification.

Here's the best way to understand this.

If you currently have football tickets and have basketball tickets, your Mustang Club donation will count for both in 2014-15. However, there will be separate donations required for each in 2015-16 if you plan to get season tickets in each sport. I would call this a transition policy to get everybody mentally ready for what is to come.

Also, keep in mind that SMU is playing a full season in Moody as opposed to what happened in 2013-14 when the games were split. From what I gathered, we were really charged for the (9 games?) in Moody and essentially given complimentary tickets for Garland. So do the math...if your seat cost about $15 per game for those 9 games, the cost is going to be about the same with 16 to 18 games or whatever it is.

To me, I can accept that so while there may a "price increase" it's really not.

Some of you may still look at it as socking it to ticket holders. I will not.

I didn't have to make a Mustang Club donation to pick up 2013/14 basketball season tickets. And the e-mail says nothing has changed if you are a current season ticket holder. Now my seats in 207 have gone from $125 to $250 per seat which is fine.

This is OK by me. I just hope the FB team will be worth the extra donation in 2015.

For one time in my life, I finally made a good decision - bought season tickets in the Godfathers first year. Saved myself a lot of cash by recognizing that he was going to turn this thing around. Just wish I had bought a couple more.

I know that I shouldn't complain about the prices since a full season will be played this year, but does anyone know if there will be a discount for young alumni?

you can get seats in endzones up high for $10 a seat per game. Every seat in Moody is reasonably close to the floor. The problem is we don't have a 30 row arena
