and apparently both coaches of each school knew the living situation. Throw in the murder and it's actually a very strange story that needs some investigating

I'm not naïve enough to think this young man's murder would change the corruption that goes on with DISD athletics. But, I hope it does. DISD athletics has been a S-H-!-T SHOW as far back as when I was in high school some 33 years ago. It will probably never happen because it's gone on far too long. But, large school districts (Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin etc. etc.) should have attendance zone boundaries instead of open enrollment. Perhaps the only exception would be if the student decides to attend an arts & magnet school.

Of course this isn't even including the blatant cheating by suburban school districts like Flower Mound Marcus who made 3 state championship including back-to-back state champions by using South Dallas kids. . . That's a whole other issue involving recruiting during the AAU tournaments.
