Elijah Thomas talking 5 schools...SMU is not one of them
Please let this be true. BTW, if anyone thinks this if lifting from a pay site, that is not accurate. It's out there. You just have to know where to find it .
According to 247Sports Basketball Insider Michael Bohlin, five-star Class of 2015 power forward Elijah Thomas (Lancaster, Texas) has been talking to five programs the most of" late. "Illinois, Memphis, UNLV, LSU, UCONN. ...That's it," Thomas said during an interview at the EYBL in Hampton, Va., last weekend. SMU has 71 percent of the predictive analyst vote on 247Sports Crystal Ball and was not mentioned. Thomas is the No. 11 overall prospect in the Class of 2015 according to 247Sports Composite Rankings for that class. He currently is sidelined with a hand injury, but says he should be back in 6-8 weeks.

Surely it is NOT true that he is not considering us.

Ok, I will take the word of every major recruiting service which ranks him as one of the best players in the country for 2015B1GPonyFan wrote:Just not believing his hype. That's all I will say about this.

Mitch has always been such an odd poster, and I don't necessarily mean that as a cutdown. I think he tries to create his own headlines a little bit by taking weird stances. Very odd.

Re: Elijah Thomas talking 5 schools...SMU is not one of them
The fact that any SMU fan would be happy that a 5-star big is not considering us anymore is beyond strange. I don't care if you think he's not the player everyone else does, he's still a high end prospect. I wasn't a big King McClure fan but I still would've been thrilled to have him. Unless there's a character issue, which I've never heard from Thomas, you don't turn away top 20 talent, or celebrate the fact that they've cut you. All that said, I believe we are still in the mix for Thomas.

Can you help me understand that point? I have an opinion of a recruit that runs counter to the masses so I guess I've committed treason. I also put up an accurate headline but it's now considered a slant.
OK

Ya never know, maybe Thomas senses the wind blowing a different direction as far as SMU is concerned. Maybe they are higher on Tyler Davis.B1GPonyFan wrote:Can you help me understand that point? Personally, I would take Davis. I assume You, B1GPonyFan, have someone you like better.

We will need at least two bigs in the '15 class. I would take Thomas who is more of a 4 and Davis who is more of a 5 in a heartbeat.

I like Tyler Davis far better than Thomas. And I don't have to give it much thought. Better player.

Why not say that rather than saying "that is all I will say about this?" The former is reasonable while the latter makes it sound like you know something negative about him that you can't share. Of course, I am just glad you have some idea who he is.B1GPonyFan wrote:I like Tyler Davis far better than Thomas. And I don't have to give it much thought. Better player.

If Pony Fans time traveled from the year 2011 and read this debate on the merits of wanting a Top 15 big, their heads would explode.
