Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownI agree: I think he wants to coach Mudiay (and the rest of the guys).
Plus, his son goes to SMU and his daughter wants to. I would think he might leave for the NBA, but not to start a rebuilding process with a 513-year-old Kobe Bryant and a bunch of players nobody has ever heard of. I would think he would prefer to stay where he is and see just how good he can make the Ponies. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownAin't no way LB would take Laker job. They are a mess, chance of failure very high there. He has the admiration he needs here. Oh, he will let Lakers stroke his tummy, Larry likes to be loved, but he is staying.
Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownHe could also do an "Ollie" and get a bump in pay. I'm sure he wouldn't mind being the highest paid coach in the AAC.

Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownNo sure thing Jank keeps this thing rolling. Especially if the recruiters leave with Larry. I'm not saying he'll fail, but I'm not sold on Jank, hope I'm wrong.

Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry Brown
There will be recruiters coming and going even if LB stays. That's what assistant coaches do. Now that we have Moody Magic, SMU is an attractive stop for ambitious assistants wanting to show their recruiting chops.

Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownHow awesome is this.....
"I've always kept in touch with Mitch; I admire the hell out of him," the 73-year-old Brown told USA TODAY Sports by phone on Tuesday. "I talk to Mitch all the time. ... (But) we're not talking about coaching the Lakers. I've read some of the names. They've got a long list of good people to choose from, and I'm here at SMU. I want to win a national championship." So do we Larry...so do we. Amazing news day. Can we start the season now? Party at The Wopper!
Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry BrownI'm worried. When I read that tweet about him staying at SMU my first reaction was pure elation. Then the SMU panic came over me and I can't help but worry. How many times have you seen a coach publicly say he is staying at his current team and then WHAM next thing you know that coach is leaving for the new team. Someone please slap me out if this panic.
Re: Report: Lakes considering interviewing Larry Brown
Didn't JJ say something similar back in 2008? Peruna is my mascot!
