E-Man and Martin not enroll ing until fall?

What I read is that since they are not enrolled and thus not students, they can't practice with the team. Makes sense.

But I don't see why a group of guys can't play a little pick up somewhere every once and a while.

Exactly right, ojaipony. Per NCAA rules, a student has to be enrolled in order to practice. Emmanuel Mudiay and Justin Martin will enroll for the fall semester.

The more important question is WHY they didn't enroll for the summer.

Maybe they wanted a month off. One is already familiar with the college atmosphere and the other is at a level that I would think he could catch on pretty quickly.

Also, aren't we one or two scholarships over the level? Maybe we need to clear someone out first.

So, if the team can practice now why wouldn't Mudiay be enrolled?

Based on how long it took Frazier to even get close to coming up to speed enough for LB to play him isn't it kind of a big deal for Mudiay to not be involved in these practices?

mrydel- I don't think we have anyone we need to run off. We had three scholarships free up after last season- Jalen, Shawn, and Nick, and we're adding Emmanuel, Tolbert, and MArtin

Something doesn't add up. I know each school is different about the way it posts its rosters. I find it odd that this is being tweeted and yet SMU already has him on its roster on the AD web site.

Larry Brown didn't sound (videos coming) too concerned this morning, citing Justin Martin's experience and the fact that Mudiay has played so much.

Perhaps LB wants everyone together same time, same place. He's got an experienced team. Most are familiar with his systems. The two or three additions are experienced or in the case of Mudiay….a stud whose brother knows this stuff chapter and verse.

It's puzzling. It sounds like Martin's issue is Xavier getting all the paperwork/process, etc together and ready (what I got from LB interview). As to Mudiay, I have no idea. He's probably not rushing to start school early since he'll be gone after a year, but you'd think he'd want to play with the team as soon as possible and that would be the reason to enroll now. At the end of the day, I'm not panicking. But, at the same time, I wish these two were already here. Having said that, again, I don't see why Mudiay can't play a little pick up with the guys down the street somewhere (SMU is only 15 minutes from the house anyway).
