Wow. Somewhat uncalled for. Perhaps I am a new fan because of my age? As in my affiliation with SMU is very recent.

I come to this board for information so I pose the following request: Please spell out exactly who those recruits are so I can know when to react.

Great point! Tell you what though, I'm going to let LB and staff, who have taken SMU from irrelevant to a top 25 program in two years, finish the class before I judge it. For me that's a better idea than taking knee-jerk reactions from people clueless to the situation. BTW, you should pm Snob. You two can intelligently discuss the epic failure we are witnessing.

Also harsh. I am not trying to doubt. I apologize if you misunderstood my intentions with this post. Just after Mudiay and our football team being outscored 142-12 through 3 games I am just looking for some good news. I was not trying to judge the talent of our staff. That would be stupid. I am not doubting and am extremely excited about the upcoming season. Maybe I am just too impatient to wait 50ish days.

No worries. This staff is elite and they know what they are doing. I wanted Hogg and Davis as much as anyone but as we found out we were never seriously close to landing them. It's impressive we got in the conversation.

You asked who we are targeting, see the two guys who visited last weekend.

BTW, as a guy who has watched this program struggle a long time, enjoy this because you came onboard at the right time.

22, since you are new I will give you the benefit of doubt. HoopmanX is pretty well connected in the Basketball AAU scene.

Who else are we strongly targeting? I hope they enjoyed their visit.

Being a new young fan implies I am not as educated as the frequent posters on this site. I am trying to become so quickly. In the mean time cut me some slack if a post of mine sounds stupid.

I don't doubt it from what I have read. I enjoy the input from that perspective. I guess the whole conversation is my fault, I could have phrased my first post better.

Hoopmanx is pretty well connected but that doesn't mean he is right 100% of the time because he is not.

Nobody is. The best of the best are only right about 80% of the time.

Nobody is. Regardless I like information from all angles and viewpoints. The more "data" the better in my opinion.

Right, but for him to come at new fans like that is a bit tasteless imo. Glad to have you as an SMU fan.

I felt the same but after reading my first post I thought otherwise. Unfortunately it is not the first time he has. However, if I let message board posts get to me I'd have much bigger issues in life. This time I think it was my fault with my original phrasing.

You're fine. Few of my comments are the result of one post, its all cumulative from the fan base. This whole we've lost momentum garbage is hilarious. What's the one thing we don't have to offer this cycle, despite the number of open ships? Playing time at a school w/no tradition. You know how we would have recruited better this cycle? If we didn't bury Keith Frazier so far behind a Chicago kid in the same class, he could barely see. SHould we have done that? Hell no.

Beyond that, a top 20 team has been put together in 2 years, and looks good for the next two. This staff is living proof that there are more than a few ways to skin a cat. We've got transfers, a JC kid, some 3 stars, a 5th year graduate transfer etc. At the end of the day, they amass talent. It's not about rankings in this case, its about getting kids you know can play....see Sterling, Ben, Emelogu, Tolbert, Nic etc. If we miss on Fatty Elijah, I have no doubt we'll call in a favor and make something happen

Let's list the positives from the Spring:

1) Barefield
2) Emelogu
3) Tolbert redshirting
4) Yanick Moreira was the best young big in the Worlds this summer
5) Us possibly telling Mudiay to haul b/c of UA

Here's the negatives

1) Mudiay, if the decision was his
