you know we got beat but on CSTV on my computer it looked like Marshall was holding all game including the key tackle of Justin Rogers in the 4th Q-but the picture wasn't as clear as you'd want it to be to say for sure.

Here's my question:
SMU has the ball on its 30 with less than :20 on the clock at the end of the game with 2 timeouts remaining. And Bennett tells Romo to take a knee and then let the clock expire and go to OT?
Good God, man! Enough time to run at least 3 plays, maybe 4. Get downfield and kick a FG to win the game!

I agree. Taking a knee was pathetic!!! He showed the players he has no confidence in them at all. Bennett is pathetic!!!

No, I was screaming at my TV. That play in particular was horrible, he was tackled from behind, and it actually happened twice that I saw on that drive. They were holding the entire freaking game and never got called.
And the non-review is BS. They didn't call that pass incomplete until AFTER the fumble recovery had been made. No whistle blew until AFTER Muse already had the ball. That play should have been reviewed.

By rule it is not reviewable. The problem again was in the official not calling it a fumble, which is reviewable, rather than an incomplete pass which is not. I am not saying this was not a bad call, but the worst part about it was calling it an interception first. I watched a game on TV earlier in the day whare the officials huddled prior to making the call in a similar situation. As a group they determined which call to make ( the reveiwable one) in order that it could be reviewed. This is new to the officals, but they need to learn to consult and decide.
Once again, howver, if we are 2 touchdowns ahead something like this does not matter. I refuse to blame an entire game on one officials call. We need to learn how to score.

I'm an MU fan and I agree with the fumble. No doubt is was just that. Both teams aren't very good. We are better defensively than offensively. It is kind of hard for our fans to get used to losing so often. Well, they better get ready cause we play Va. Tech, UAB and Texas El Paso in the next three weeks. Anyway, good luck the rest of the season.

As ALEX stated, it was "Home Cooking." I missed some of the game early (still at work), but what I saw was pathetic. Our O was weak (play calling), dropped passes, poor tackling again. However, what steamed me was the lack of calls against marshall. I had to take my shoes off to keep track of the time they should have been called for holding, clipping, pass interference, ang the PAINFULLY obvious. Sure, SMU didn't crush them, but the zebras were not helping either.
Go Ponies!

Mex, if you're thinking Jerry is Sp Teams, I believe you're incorrect.
I've attended every game this year ('cept MU), & I've never seen him in those huddles.

I'll try to answer:
#1. How could Marshall throw 60 passes and not get called a single time for "holding"?
It was obvious that SMU was getting great pressure on the QB, did you see how many time he had to scramble out of the pocket?
#2. Didn't the Marshall QB fumble late in the 4th quarter on their scoring drive? How could the replay guy upstairs not at least say it warranted a review? Wasn't the Marshall QB's hand not moving forward when the ball came loose?
Incomplete pass in not reviewable.
#3. How could #22 for SMU not make the interception that was right in his hands late in the 4th quarter that would have prevented Marshall from scoring?
These are young men, and they will make mistakes. There were other plays that decided this game, not just that one.
#4. How can SMU keep getting punts blocked? Is there something technically wrong about our punt blocking scheme?
Bad snap by the center. The QB made a great play to actually catch the ball. If the snap had been on the mark, he would have had time to kick it.
