Now time to try and add a big... we desperately need one in this class.
How standards have changed when a 3 star player is now a DITR. He sounds like the right kind of player from the interview, ready and open to learn and develop with LB's help and knows the importance of academics.
Oh SMU can find a lot of kids that want to learn and develop but mostly want a good education. The real question is can he hoop? If he gets well I believe the answer is yes.

everything i've read from guys like Bossi and Rothstein is that this kid was set to blow up at AAu but the injury cost him - out of sight, out of mind. That is why he was a bit short on big-time offers. Some programs like UT and Baylor were wanting to see him healthy.
kid was the mvp of the TX 5A championships if I am not mistaken.

Is there a worry that if he blows up when he comes back in January that other big time schools that need a wing late in the recruiting cycle start offering and he reopens his commitment?

unlike football under JJ (I know, I know...he who shall not be named on the BB board) I have full confidence in this staff that we hold on to kids in those situations. Unless there is a McQuiad-like recruiting over going on, a la transfer kid at same position.

He signs his LOI in November so he can't decommit in January when he comes back. Come on guys you are not novices.

I completely forgot about the early signing period. Excellent.

Not to be critical, but why is Larry Brown taking players who's offers consist of Rice and Lafayette? Am I missing something here about Foster???

Does this potentially effect the Gilder decision?

Others have commented that he got hurt, but is a really great get. I'm not really as concerned about his offers (given his injury) or his ranking (again...), but I'm just scratching my head why we aren't more focused on some bigs. Small Ball it is...

looks lengthy and quick -- should be a great defender for us. love his versatility too. he can play on the perimeter, post, mid-range, etc. also, seems like from the article his work-rate and effort level are extremely high. would like to see him bulk up a bit tho.
