Briggs had a super game Saturday...never knew he could run that fast that far! Image Glad he got the chance to shine for us and his family.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

SMU's version:

Briggs named WAC Offensive Player of the Week
Senior runs for career-high, sets school record in win over Tulsa

Dallas, Texas -- SMU senior running back Kris Briggs was named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week today for his performance in the Mustangs' 24-21 win over Tulsa last Saturday.

The Carthage, Texas native rushed for a career-high 198 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. His 96-yard TD run in the second quarter was the longest in school history and tied for the longest play from scrimmage in SMU annals. His four-yard score in the third period gave SMU a 17-7 lead.

"The way Kris played Saturday was a great way to finish his career," said SMU head coach Phil Bennett. "He has been through a lot of adversity this year but he has provided great leadership on this team. That was a special performance he had against Tulsa and I couldn't be happier for him."

Briggs moved into ninth place on the SMU all-time rushing list in the game, past Doak Walker and Kyle Rote, finishing his career with 2,106 yards.

There's no way Briggs could have NOT been named Player of the Week. He was sensational in his swan song.

What a great way to end your college career: Conference player of the week and sets a record for the longest rushing TD in school history.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
