My wife sent the clip to some friends who are elder alumni of SMU. Here's what they had to say!

"Helen: Now THAT's exciting football. Really reminds me of the 1948 SMU-Ark game in Ark when on the last play Gil Johnson hit Doak in the end zone only to have the play called back because of a penalty---then---AFTER the clock had run out they ran the exact same play with Doak catching the winning TD pass while ON HIS BACK in the end zone. I love exciting football!! - Otto"

And, yes...these two elder alumni still attend ALL home games!

It is probably for the best, because driving at high speed with that type of ending, I probably would have lost control of the car, swerved all over the highway, causing multiple multicar collisions and ending several innocent lives.

I thought that was an average day behind the wheel for you?

I've listened to this audio clip several times. The announcer says 'It's quiet at Legion Field' but in the background you can hear people in the stadium yelling and screaming! There must have been a lot more SMU fans there than just 'raplh' and a handful of others.

MM65...(and raplh), ANYONE who went to that dump to watch our Mustangs play deserves a medal. My brother lives in that area of the world so I recorded the game for him. I'm just wondering, what happened to the cheerleader from UAB who got cold-cocked in the back of the head by the UAB punter near the end of the 3rd quarter? Rich & Craig were hurtin' big time. That is entertainment. Great radio guys.
