You're hired. Who can make the referral?
Unfortunately, as much as I love SMU and would love to run gameday presentation, I don't think they can match my current salary. But if I win the lottery, I am so applying.
Side gig. Train someone, hire them (get paid while training them), then take a percentage passively of their earnings as a "consulting fee" ongoing. Geesh - I thought PonyFans were entrepreneurs.

I agree that the music and the DJ were strangely disconnected from the game and the kids. 7th Nation Army is the signature song to get the kids up and it was only played one time. Last year, the DJ just seemed locked in on the game and the kids. Not the same this year and we need that fixed for tomorrow night...........

Try thinking outside of your bubble, the reason we talk/debate/even complain about these types of things is that we're trying to create a first class experience for casual fans, recruits and outsiders. We want people to come to games that don't necessarily have family or personal ties to our university, we have to make the experience worth the price of admission. It's about generating buzz and creating atmosphere, a visually and audibly engaging experience at a game leaves a lasting impression.

It is in fact a diff music person (an asst) at the scorers table so that is true. Certainly was off. Need this fixed immediately. You cant tell me its the same...

It's definitely been weak so far this year. Obvious disconnect with the crowd. Tomorrow night will really tell us the truth

My very important thoughts:
1) Most of us are comparing the home field NIT games to EWU and Lamar games. Unfortunately our fan base isn't there like it is for the Gonzaga / Dukes of the world. 2) re-watching the game last night, the students were very tame. Only takes a few enthusiastic students in each section to get things going. Hope the more rowdy kids start showing up.....or consume more beer. 3) But Yes, more DJ during crucial parts of the game, crowd is still learning how to be top 25 too and DJ helps keep the energy up.

Basically you want the same video that they showed for the lamar game. Open with a bit of I'm coming home then into the new video.

SID - Can we get an honest answer on the current game presentation (music, timeout entertainment etc.)?
Did SMU get rid of the individuals or organization that made the gameday persentation last year so great? The music is so low during warm ups, timeouts everything. As someone mentioned before, everything is so recycled. 7 nation army is fine, but mix it up and play music that provides energy. The Jock Jams CD was cool in 1997.
It reeks of old Moody - silence during breaks. It was so perfect last year. Please hire them back. God knows you raised the price enough this year.

From what I understand, there is a riff between marketing and the production crew. I guess that may be what is the issue. There is an assistant at the scorers table running the music vs the manager/director last year. ...just what I heard. It IS different - band playing those melodies and show tunes kills any energy. Fire the band director and let the kids run the show like Stanford or somewhere like that.

As fans we deserve answers. The atmosphere, not including the gameplay, but the TOs, music, lighting, and energy is extremely different compared to last season. What happened? It has to be a completely different production crew.

This makes a lot of sense. There seems to be no coordination among the groups. Band seems like they play whenever they feel like it. Marketing is trying to get in the sponsored games they sold even at the expense of momentum. There is very little music, lighting and graphics to get the fans on their feet at the right time. It seems extremely unorganized compared to last season. Typical of SMU to mess with something that wasn't broken. Also, turn up the volume on the music. Solution: Do what you did last year, end of discussion.
