Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?To say they had their hands full getting Moody done on time is an understatement. If they would have tried to push this out at the same time, it would have been a disaster.

Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?
The point there is that people are moaning about kicking out fans who have stuck with the program for many years, which won't happen. Unless you are one of the 197 (think I missed by a year maybe) you are just as much of a 'band wagoner' as everyone else.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?Those 197 should be given free floor seats for life.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?I've had two seats in 205 for two years. I just don't want to wake up March 1 and learn that my best option is now section 200 baseline. If I have to pay more for my current seats (within reason) then fine, I understand supply and demand. But I don't want to be left out of it altogether.

I like your suggestion. I would be fine with a tshirt. "This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"

Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?
If/when they confirm this "197" thing, I'll breathe a serious sigh of relief.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?Not the same but this 'SMU' attitude reminds me of yrs ago. My ex-father-in-law's company used to buy 10-15 books of season tickets for fball. Not great seats- on about the 30-35 yd line, probably 30 rows up. This was in the old Cotton Bowl. One year he called about renewing his tickets and they told him he could now only buy seats outside of the 30 yd lines. Guess what- he kindly told them to stuff it and to never call his company again for anything SMU related.
I understand the need to maximize revenue but sticking it to loyal fans or recent alumni is not going to build long term loyalty. And they wonder why they can't get the local Dallas people engaged or interested. How are some of the less privileged going to attend games if one of their relatives are playing or possibly attending SMU? We need to have some tickets that will not be exclusionary to those of lesser means. JMHO
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?The 197 is not a bypass; it is more like a right of first refusal. I am afraid I've contributed to more confusion and shouldn't have referenced it; I was merely trying to correct the time period more out of humor than anything else.

Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?
To clarify, I'm not too concerned about the price increase (within reason). I'm just really attached to my location. I'd honestly rather they price me out of it than just reseat me elsewhere w/o any decision on my part. I agree it is too soon to complain, since we really don't know anything.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?OK, I am confused so I will just wait until something official comes out on this. Ureka! This is kind of like that game we played as a kid where you whisper something to the kid next to you and that kid whispers in the ear of the kid next to him. By the time the message finishes traveling it is nothing like the original message.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?I understand the loyalty comments and feel bad for those who sat through the down years possibly getting screwed in a new plan, but SMU people are pretty spoiled when it comes to ticket prices and availability. Big time college sports these days are big time costly and we have beetched for years about wanting to join the elite, so if it happens, be prepared to "pony up" for good seats...or any seat at all in our small venues
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?
That may just be the issue that many posters have. "Big time" doesn't equal the NIT championship. "Big Time" = Kentucky. Ticket prices for Kentucky per their website: For the 2014-2015 season, lower level tickets are $945 each, and upper level tickets are $840 each These are prices for the best team in the country with a legit chance to win a NCAA title every single year. Call me crazy, and maybe I'm missing some donations requirements somewhere, but our ticket prices now aren't that far off. For 1 NIT appearance and a 4-3 record as of today. I agree with you that when we hit "Big Time" prices should reflect it, but the University is risking losing their most dedicated fanbase due to pricing slightly less or equally to Kentucky when we haven't been to the NCAA tourney since 1993. I like sports and I don't care who knows.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?Rupp seats 23,500 people (16,500 more than Moody), and they receive tens of millions more in conference tv deals.
Re: Anybody going to the reseat discussion Dec. 11?
What is the required donation to purchase those seats?
