It's awesome you're supporting SMU, but if you think just because you've had seats for a couple years that you're entitled to some kind of rent control, you're in for a surprise. These seats have been CRAZY stupid cheap (above the rail that is). When I've been out of town I've thrown my seats on Stubhub and sold my tickets for almost what I paid for the WHOLE SEASON. That tells you pricing is low. I'll say it again, if they can pack Moody and price me out, GREAT!!!! I'll cheer from home and know they're moving things in the right direction.

And you've obviously not read a single thing I've said. I'm willing to pay for the seats. But I should be given the opportunity to buy them at whatever price they set. I've not complained about the ticket prices, I'm objecting to moving me without giving me the option to buy them. Tell me the price, if they are out of my price range and I say no thanks, then open them up.

I don't mind the price increase as much as the re-seating. I've had my seats in 205 for 3 years and would happily pay more for them, but just give me the opportunity to match so I can keep my seats.

That's where I stand on this issue, but I think we are going to end up on the wrong side of the fence.

Yes, then I misunderstood. With all of the HCCM news I haven't been able to keep up with every post. I agree with you, everyone should have first right of refusal at the "new price".

Frankly they should. They bring a much better (and local) slate of conference oppenents. They aren't charging more because the TCU product is better, that's for sure.

Then it's a fair ask, IMO.

We have very recently begun building a fan base that has the potential for deep roots. One good year, and a program that looks to at least be positioned for consistently better success. Doing anything whatsoever that would have any negative impact, actual or perceived, with our younger grads is staking potential short-term financial success against the potential for yet another lost generation of fans. Or, loud, proud posteriors in seats at $x vs empty seats at $$$x.

Not sure that is correct. I have a hard time imagining that the bball program doesn't pay for itself (excepting the alums that pay the coaches salaries). IMO the main issue is that they want to pimp the bball fans for the failures they have had in fball. Why not keep the expenses separate and then the 'truth' would be known.

Despite what I'm sure are your very best intentions, I'm not sure you're sticking the landing on your efforts. Just my two cents. I think it's a "crash landing" for 2nd !!! his comments doing more harm than good .

We are the young that do not approve being priced out. SMU should work on getting 32k ppl in Ford before they try to kill the only home field advantage SMU has has since the DP.

Agreed and I don't think the re-seating (from what the letter implied and what at least one person on here has said was going to happen) and ticket price increases will do that. I hope this decision has not already been made, which is probably wishful thinking, but the letter and email we received also implied that we will get to voice our opinions and presumably have some say with the decision makers. I am writing a letter to both Turner and Hart today about this issue. I will also be at the meeting at 4:45, just to be safe. It's also ludicrous to think that because some of us have only been standing in line for 30 minutes as opposed to an hour, that we don't have a right to be upset because a few roll in the door, plop down some cash and get moved to the front of the line ahead of us. These donors could have gotten seats anywhere in the gym in LB's first year here. First come, first served is the ONLY fair way to handle seating.
