Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffIf not, the heat will be on the B12 for not having a conf champ game. Mack Brown just said as much on espn, that they would have to think about adding two more teams moving forward. That would not be good for us and the AAC, as it would likely be 2 of these three: Memphis, Cincy, UCF.
We are not at a point to be seriously considered for B12 expansion. In a few years, if Larry has us making deep tourney runs and Chad Morris has us competing for AAC championships then that may change, but right now we would once again be on the outside looking in. I hate BU and TCU but we should probably be rooting for one of them to make the playoff for our own sake (and then get trounced by Bama in the Sugar Bowl) 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffThis will certainly make them think about that. Ohio State will probably get in and leave both Baylor and TCU out. If they had an extra game, I would think one of them would be considered. Perhaps they add 2 teams in the next couple of years but they are limited in choices now on who to add.
The Big 12 name is hilarious too. http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... ons-policy
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffI agree as if the B12 is out of the National playoffs this time, they will be forced to look at adding teams to make a B12 playoff scenario.
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffYep. Northeast media is really pulling Big State School.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoff
It'll only get to the "thinking" stage at this point. They'd have to be left out several years in a row for any real movement to occur. In the interim you'll see them continue to get CCG deregulation pushed through. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffIf Ohio Star and/or Bama had lost a meaningless Conference Championship game, those conferences are probably out of the picture.
There is good/bad with both methods. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoff
Briles made a good point about this. The Big 12 plays 9 conf games, while SEC/B10/ACC play 8. So they all played the same amount of games vs conf opponents 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffit's all pretty comical any way you look at it.
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffIf they get locked out I have no doubt two more teams will be added. We are obviously not at our best time, but you look at rutgers and wonder how they got into the big 10
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffThe idea that the Big 12's practice of having everybody play everybody is disingenuous. The reason all ten teams play each other is not because of some idealistic reason centered around fair play but rather because there has been a mass exodus of teams from the conference and they are stuck with 10. If they could have Mizzou and Colorado back and the increased exposure in those states and go back to a 12 team, 2 division format where not everybody played everyone they would do it in a heartbeat.

Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffLet the realignment madness begin
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffEnd game getting closer. Too bad we're no where near getting in.
Re: Hoping one B12 team gets in playoffWith everything said by Jeff Long the Big 12 has to go to playoffs and no more cupcake teams. Since SMU is a cupcake team then it becomes that much harder for SMU to compete.
