"The Knights sold out their 6,000-ticket allotment to the Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl, UCF associate athletic director Zack Lassiter announced on Twitter Tuesday night... " http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/u ... -post.htmlIt is a relatively close game for travel, but already a great showing by their fans. Also, they had 44,510 for their first home game (against an FCS opponent) after losing their first two games. But then again they have over 50k undergraduates.

After watching UCF, Cincy and Memphis salivate over getting into the Big 12, I say screw the AAC and I hope SMU beats the hell out of them in all sports for the remainder of our time in this conference.
Good for them, though.

Not much of an accomplishment given that the game is 2 hours (or less) away.

They threatened the stability of our current conference and instead of working towards making it better they prefer to just leave.

They are the largest school in the country. How is that impressive?

That would be like SMU selling 500 tickets

We would so sell out our allotment for a bowl that close to Dallas. No question about it.

I thought our crowd was fairly decent at the 2011 BBVA Compass bowl, esp given it was mid December in B-Alabama. I saw a lot of Red and Blue in the stands on our side.

Actually, the game was in January. But you're right, there seemed to be a good number of us there.

Sincere question, were any of you there? While a decent showing there were tons of Bama fans. Compass Bank gave away a lot of tickets to employees so the locals showed up in droves.

I think we had close to 10k at Compass Bowl. It was very impressive. And tied with 2009 Hawaii Bowl as the most fun, because of the numbers.

Yeah, and we had more people there than Pitt did. Even without all the Bama fans. After going to the UCF game, I came to conclusion that UCF is the Chico State of the East Coast.
