Sorry I don't have a link but....
Rumor on other boards is that SMU is looking to buy out Baylor game. Baylor was close to inking a h-a-h with Tennessee as a replacement when the SEC killed it. Anyone hearing the same?

Who would we replace them with? Didn't June want out of the Baylor game too? Do we just want to avoid being crushed early?

0% chance Baylor was close to a H&H with Tennessee. Vols already play OU out of conference next season

This would surprise me. Could be baylor that wants out after this years end result and their OOC strength.

Vols needed a replacement for UAB.

Right, but why would they want to play OU and Baylor OOC before playing their SEC slate?

If you're going to talk the talk... More important point (for this board) is that we shouldn't expect a Baylor game next year.

I posted this on another thread:
If you look at Baylor's OOC schedule for the past several years and for the foreseeable, it is obvious SMU is not the issue, it's a planned strategy of playing creampuffs such as Wofford, LA Monroe, Rice, Buffalo, Sam Houston State, SF Austin and yes, SMU these past couple of seasons only. Their next P5 OOC opponent is DUKE and its 3 years from now. Their OOC schedule that year also includes powerhouses Liberty and UTSA. They also have Duke and UTSA scheduled for 2018.
Future opponents for next 2 years include SMU, Rice, Lamar and Northwestern State.
Don't exactly understand why WE are singled out as the weak link that needs to be replaced. Seems like playing at Ford is tossing your Dallas alum a bone.

It'd be pretty foolish to schedule two Top 25 teams OOC in the SEC. Tennessee already filled the UAB game w/ Bowling Green I think

Yes, BG is lined up (now), but it must have been recent. The 9/5 date lines up.

I find it hard to believe we would play two I-AA games which would likely happen if we did this.

Isn't Incarnate Word also on their list of opponents?

Good to hear, if true. SMU gets no value playing in Waco, College Station or Lubbock. In any case, play an ACC, Big Ten or Pac team. If Big 12 then go schedule KU for both FB and BB.
