I REALLY hope he stays one year - I REALLY want to see he and Tolbert together. BUT, I also thinks if there's ANY chance he can cash out, he will. I don't know him at all, but I'm sure his mom wants him to get a degree but I'm sure he wants to help her out also. I wish whatever's best for the young man. Selfishly, I hope he comes back next year, becomes an all american next year and goes on to be a lottery pick. Win-Win. :-)

Exactly. He's played like 8 minutes this year and came off the bench for half of last year. Slow down. You don't just 'go pro' in basketball if you played 2 1/2 years in college.

Those who question whether MK would be criticized on ponyfans if he becomes ineligible again should review what was said about KCN when he was lost to the football team.

It looks to me like "one and done" or something close to it can take several forms.

Why are we not supporting MK in everything? Regardless of wants... MK is now a great part of SMU and SMU is now a great part of MK. Success to one is success to both. We should be so happy to be able to use the two letters M K. I know I am.

Mk needs to stay another year. He will be out of the nba real quick otherwise...if he ever makes a team.
Hope he gets his grades steady and stays!

About what? Maybe 60 guys in the world get a shot at the NBA every year. Another 100 may have a shot at a few years in Europe. It's a tight job market and MKs resume is fairly short.

I wish nothing but the best for Markus. Id love for him to graduate and get a degree from SMU but that is completely up to MK to do so. I will cheer for MK regardless, however; criticism aside it's easy for me to say he should do this or that but Im not the one playing college basketball and in discussion of possibly playing in the NBA. Really hard to pass up a shot at it when it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity that many college players never get. Wish the best for MK!

He's a longshot to get drafted-let's have some reality on your wish list. Let's not forget the large number of International players who are going to take up space in the NBA Draft. The issue is if he would benefit from a Senior year

let's see how he looks as this season plays out. Based on what I saw last year, I think he could definitely use another year of seasoning under coach Brown, but it may depend on academics. If he's concerned about staying eligible, he's probably better off playing in Europe if he's not ready for the NBA. A lot of guys have made a pretty good living playing overseas and he might only have 10 years left where he can make a living playing the game he loves

He can also go to overseas and make a decent living if he needed to do so. Whatever he decides I wish him the best when that time comes. The young man was a major factor in putting SMU back on the basketball map. He had other colleges that he could have transferred to and he selected SMU. So whatever he does I wish him the best.
