Re: The Chad Morris Spreadnice analysis- thanks for posting.
Re: The Chad Morris Spread2013 Highlights
I think this interesting because it shows you can run the spread in a manner where the QB isn't expected to run the option run series that much. You see the run series a little bit on the end but the QB is often sitting back reading the field in a protected pocket while the moving pieces are the RBs, HBs, Flankers and Receivers around him. Now it would be better for you to have a Dual threat QB but... Oh and we are going to need a new entrance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0DVDE8ziAw Last edited by Stallion on Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:09 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Re: The Chad Morris SpreadThe thing that really jumps out:
We don't have the personnel to run this offense like Clemson Be patient-let's go recruit "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: The Chad Morris Spread2014 Orange Bowl victory over Ohio St
Even with a Dual Threat Boyd as QB most of the offensive plays made from a protected pocket sometimes a rolling pocket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X29u5-HeiVg "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: The Chad Morris Spread
Maybe he is smart unlike you know who to actually change the offense a little bit.
Re: The Chad Morris SpreadI doubt if this O is very effective at half speed (our players). Remember- speed kills.
Re: The Chad Morris SpreadThese highlites do show though how a QB like Hicks could run the offense effectively. Stoudt had problems this year but he was playing through some serious shoulder problems because they didn't have much of an alternative. After some rest for his shoulder injury he had a good game

Re: The Chad Morris Spread
Oh we don't have a Sammy Watkins on this roster? Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: The Chad Morris SpreadI would just say give Hicks the reigns and take our lumps next season. This is a major rebuild. He'll be like a Redshirt Freshman given the fact that he's enrolling now and will have a full spring in this offense.

Re: The Chad Morris SpreadI think we'll see both qb's. You don't want to overwhelm Hicks, plus, Davis will have 4th year senior experience, utilize both their strengths.
Re: The Chad Morris SpreadWe don't have the personnel to run it in its full glory, but we have personnel that can put together a better season than we saw this year. I agree we need to be patient, but it wouldn't shock me to get 5-6 wins this year in a very weak AAC.
Re: The Chad Morris SpreadMan, that environment at Death Valley is something else. Hope we don't disappoint HCCM...
Re: The Chad Morris Spread
Yeah, we got it, you already mentioned you expect 2015 to be a throw away season. Luckily we finally have a real coach with different expectations. Our conference sucks, no reason to 'pencil in' losses outside of Baylor & TCU.
Re: The Chad Morris Spread
He's going to be a rs junior
