Yeah, we got it, you already mentioned you expect 2015 to be a throw away season. Luckily we finally have a real coach with different expectations. Our conference sucks, no reason to 'pencil in' losses outside of Baylor & TCU.
You can't be real. No one is "penciling in" losses. My point is that if you think Hicks is the guy that gives the program the best chance to win in the future then maybe you give him the reigns and let him learn on the fly. He'll make some mistakes and we will grow along with him. Seriously does your kid or the new coaching staff know that you post here daily? As others have mentioned you might really want to avoid doing that especially considering the vitriolic garbage you've posted about the fans and the passionate people who support this program.

Stallion wrote:2013 Highlights I think this interesting because it shows you can run the spread in a manner where the QB isn't expected to run the option run series that much. You see the run series a little bit on the end but the QB is often sitting back reading the field in a protected pocket while the moving pieces are the RBs, HBs, Flankers and Receivers around him. Now it would be better for you to have a Dual threat QB but... Oh and we are going to need a new entrance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0DVDE8ziAw
When you watch that highlight video, watch the QB's helmet. A lot of those plays are designed with a single primary receiver. He is making the pass to the first read a vast majority of the time. There was one play where he did a check down to the back. There are some times when he goes through 2 options, but they are always to the same side of the field. There is one play where he does three options - a prescribed look at the check down, then he looks at the post on the same side, then throws the vertical on the same side. On the other orange bowl link, there is one play early where he does a similar sequence, bluff look to the left flat, then looks at a flag pattern, then hits the guy down the seam. Three options, all the same side of the field, and the first option is really just a bluff. The June Jone offense: wait for the long routes to develop, see where the safeties move, then either throw that pass or run through progressions until you find an open receiver. Sit in the pocket and read. The CM offense: Make a quick decision. A lot of plays are a pre-defined pass (bubble, flare). Others it is one quick read, another quick read, and run. Don't waste time switching to the other side of the field because we want a decision made as quick as possible. #tempo even with the QB making decisions on where to go with the ball. Even when the QB is in the pocket, the field is cut in half. Matt Davis doesn't have the arm of Boyd, but he is a better runner. He can throw the bubble just fine. This is an offense I think he will play well in. It is also an offense a true frosh can pick up pretty quickly, as shown by Clemson this season. So if Davis doesn't work out, the frosh should be ready after going through spring. But I really do think Davis will be fine. The bigger issue is trying to get Lancaster/Walker/Malone/Stewart/Durall/true frosh to play the Watkins role.

Your words not mine. Go back and read your own post. Seriously has anyone ever told you you are a giant whiner? Most everyone disagrees with you on this topic if you haven't noticed? Just because your Hicks argument got [deleted] slapped, here comes the usual childish personal attacks against me because it makes you feel better? Serious case of little man's syndrome I would suspect.

Move Lancaster over to defense. We need the bodies and he was actually considered a better prospect on defense out of HS.
Walker needs to add about 10-15 pounds of muscle before he will ever see significant game action.
Malone/Halverson/Durall/Stewart/Sanders, Jr.....all just bodies in a uniform.
The WR's that I think have a chance to be players are Sutton, Ingram, Joseph, and the incoming freshmen like Wilson and Proche. Xavier Castille would be an absolutely huge get if we can land him.

If Hicks shows some game in the spring then I would put him out there in the fall. If CM thinks Hicks is the best option then I bet he plays him asap.

Didn't answer the question. Does your kid know you post here daily? I'm sure the coaching staff does. Do you honestly think that is a good idea when you are running down people who support the program?

Reed,
Totally agree. But according to helicopter "most everyone" disagrees with me despite multiple posters saying that at worst Hicks should get a shot. lol. You can't make this stuff up.

Not sure - lots of Davis supporters including myself. I think Davis will excel in a non R n S offense. Spring ball will be interesting.

Don't be that way precious. Have no worry that the coaches know what is posted here and you aren't doing yourself or your kid any favors by calling SMU fans and alumni "the worst". Thankfully Coach Morris knows the passion here and the passionate people that can make this program great. Your attacks on our fans isn't doing your kid or the team any good. Period. It just makes you look like a helicopter parent.

Ha! No kidding. Maybe he will do a hat ceremony with Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist, and Lamar.

in addition to Lancaster another kid June stole from Defense was Halverson-move him back to DB. We got about 6 of these Mini-Me' Wrs and we can only use about 1-2 of them. Have an extra DB spot to fill too. We've got to sign several WRs to transition the offense. Actually think though with concentrated Strength and Conditioning and Nutrition Shelby Walker is still a prospect who could fit in the new offense

Same can be said of Jordan Ingram. TCU offered late in the game and he was a speed demon in high school. Could be a useable piece if he gains some much needed strength.

Honestly, it probably doesn't matter, because this is one position Morris can sell as really really attractive to recruits, and Watkins was awesome as a frosh in it. Don't sleep on Walker, Malone, and Stewart though. Lancaster is probably too small to move to corner. Proche might be a good fit. He cuts well and gets to speed quickly, which will be effective on the bubble screens, and his quickness off the line will help in a quick decision offense. He isn't a burner for top end speed, but he may be that playmaking receiver for now.
