Reaching out to the students and asking/expecting their support is a great idea. Greeks are just one group he should "rush".

It's KY Jelly wrestling and Jäger shots :D

What about Jäger wrestling and KY shots? The organizer could be dyslexic...

I can't say with 100% certainty that we didn't accidentally do that

I'm taking Chad to bombshells, who's with me? He's our #1 commit.

nice to see him do this. I know I've seen photos of LB sitting down to chapter dinners and even Doh did that before him. I feel like the basketball coaches have reached out to the student body much more than football.

Why? because the student section is much more visible at basketball?

I'm glad he's going. I went to Rush a few years ago when they played at Starplex, but I missed them last year.

Yeah, to avoid the potential confusion along those lines, and all that goes with that these days, the longer, more politically correct term that folks use is "recruitment"...

I like Rush but I've never understood the rabid obsession some have with them. I will say they are amazing musicians even if you don't like the music.

Phil Bennett did the exact same thing. He went to all the fraternity houses and gave this speech about how he needed us at every game. It did nothing. Beg all you want.... Spend millions on stupid marketing campaigns.... Filling the stadium for the millionth time all comes back to winning games in a convincing and consistent basis against credible opponents. What a joke.

You still need to market and establish some connection. Not the primary issue but still can't disregard it unlike our previous HC couldn't care less about this.

I think it's important to do

With all due respect...

Research Mustang Mania. It started in 1978 with Brad Thomas and Russ Potts. In 1977 SMU had gone 4-7 with huge promotions SMU avg 45k in 78 going 4-6-1 and we beat Florida in the Swamp, lost at Penn State (with a lead in the 4th Qtr), and tied Ohio State. In 1979 we went 5-6 and had 60k at the Rice game.

It's not either or it's all of the above aggressive marketing, scheduling the big boys and winning.
