Ryan Manuel

Ryan Manuel, in addition to the normal stuff, made a few nice dribble drives into the lane yesterday before either finishing himself or passing to a teammate in the lane. I think we really need this kind of thing from him so that teams don't overload Nic or the big guys down low. Need him to attack the basket and make something happen. Seems like Ryan's execution and decision making near the basket have improved over the course of the season. I want to see more of it!

He has developed a new confidence and leadership that is much needed from a Senior. His consistent slashes to the basket to create fouls many times stop opponent scoring runs. If he could develop an outside shot at all, he would be a heck of a player. But since I know many PonyFans wrote him off after his numerous lay-up flubs, it's nice to see a little life out of RM.

I ripped on him earlier this season but his play as of late has forced me to eat my words.

Ryan seems to be gaining confidence with his increased minutes; was surprised to see him miss so many FTs yesterday. Usually pretty reliable and I remember he shot about 80% his Soph year when he was playing 30+ minutes every game. Agree we are going to need him (and Ben Emelogu) to take some of the pressure off Nic as the season wears on

He's starting to hit the 15 foot jumper. I think it's just always been a confidence issue with him.

Ryan averaged 12 pts his Soph season when he was a guy we counted on to score. He hasn't had that pressure since Nic arrived, but he's certainly capable on any given night of giving this team double figures

Ben E looked more confident in his shot yesterday as well. Most of the 3's he missed were right on target. A few of those start dropping and he'll be a huge weapon for us.

Agree, about 3 of Bens 3s just rimmed out yesterday, a little unlucky. He's getting closer...
