Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownpeople seem to forget that he was only pulled when he lead the nation in turnovers including several Pick 6s. He was a turnover machine and SMU was like 0-5 or 0-6 and he was hitting on about 45% of his passes at the time. He was having a horrible season when he was benched especially with regard to turnovers. Then he decided he wanted to leave and wasn't up to competing for the job. He bailed-he failed to perform

"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownThen McCown's substance and psychological makeup miraculously changed the second he left the zipcode.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownNo just the level of competition. He was great at d1aa.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownHe definitely sucked at SMU and then rocked in D2. Not sure who's to blame for either.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcown
Kind of similar to June's first QB recruit at SMU. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Peruna is my mascot!
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcown
He's a long time veteran NFL quarterback. Can we count that?
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownHe's in the freaking NFL. Maybe SMU was the problem.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownIs he elite? No.
Is he a successful NFL QB? Well, he has stuck longer than most. Derail the Frogs!
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcown
exactly my point. he is way below average by any metric, 35 years old and yet is still much desired. mind-blowing.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownMaybe your paradigm is what's causing your mind to be blown. The NFL is not a charity. They only keep those who can genuinely play.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownthere are lots of bad players in the nfl. ever seen oakland play? no, because they are so bad the nfl has banned them from tv. true story.
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcown
He won't kill you with stupid mistakes. He's like a poor man's Alex Smith. Game manager, nothing else. Derail the Frogs!
Re: the unbelievable josh mCcownAnd doing something that 98.4% of college footballers wish they could have. And that's 1.6% of college players even getting a taste of the NFL, much less hanging around for 12-13 years.
