2006 Depth Charts?I was looking through the depth charts and realized that there will be a large number of returning starters back next year. I know that this is a recurring theme around here but I thought I would look at where we stand next year with the Depth Chart as it stands today with the SRs gone. I am expecting a significant contribution from Willis at QB next year but I was wondering who everyone else thought might be big players not listed or will making a greater contribution next year.

it looks to me as if our offense might have changed on Saturday. Weren't we in the two TE offense with Romo under Center and Martin in the deep bachfield about 60% at least Saturday. I think this makes us a better football team personally. One big advantage is that you get an athlete like Vincent Chase on the field.
I would like to see the following "weapons" next season on offense:
QB-Willis RB-Martin FB-Massey(add back the 20 pounds on him and let him punish LB's) WR-Givens WR-Slot-Chase WR-3rd-Pellerin TE-Kennedy TE-Chase Class of '91
i think our offense will be signigicantly more consistent next year with pretty much all our starters comin back, with a better qb, no offense to romo but it's true in either phillips or willis. i love our d-line, they need to get even bigger and quicker to get ready to get a couple sacks against non-conf foes, ie texas tech first game, love to see them pummel whoever tech starts. brandon jones is pretty darn good, the other cb position may present problems if opponents are stacked at WR. sturdivant is solid at safety. LB is goin to be a problem. its gonna be carrington, mccray, and ?????. and if we goto a 3-4 who the heck is gonna come in. maybe drop muse back? somebody plz comfort me about next years LB core
I hope Sanders is a prominent factor as well. I particularly hope he doesn't get the .6 catch a game average like Givens is getting this year.
I noticed Makinde wasn't on your DB list. Anyone else notice just how friggin HUGE Burley looks? Stallion, in your opinion is he just one of those huge guys who, just because he's huge doesn't necessarily mean he can play, or can he do some damage? As far as LBs...hopefully there's a JC transfer that brings to LB what Haywood brought to DL
Yeah, maybe we'll be ranked 104th offensively instead of 105th. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Considering that he's starting now at right guard, I'd be surprised to see Urbanus give up the starting right guard spot to Dustin Morton.
Isn't Mitch Enright likely to be the backup center? And where does Tommy Poynter fall into the mix? Will Bryan Turner return next year, or is he done playing? And if Burley is 305, then Justin Rogers is 105. Burley is a big, big man. Personally, I'd like to see him get on the field sometime, to see what he can do.
What's your problem? People are curious about next year's lineup. There's nothing here that says we'll go 0-11, 11-0 or anywhere in between. We're on this board because we enjoy SMU football -- a lot. Why are you here?
Are you going for the Most Hateful Poster Award? Where in my post .... .... is there anything sunshine-ish? In the first sentence, I suggested a lineup change was unlikely at a certain spot. Then I asked three questions, and followed that up with a comment about a player's size, with the added comment that I'd like to see if a player who happens to be huge can play or not. You're right -- what Red and Blue glasses I have on. If that's sunshining, you must have thought anyone who suggested we'd beat Rice (and by the way, we did) was smoking crack.
