National response

Postby LA_Mustang » Thu Mar 19, 2015 4:56 pm

Everyone saying don't blame that call, you're foolish. It was wrong, and cost us the game. No doubt we contributed, but you can't make that call to decide a game.

“@Espngreeny: I don't care what anybody says: That is the most startlingly horrific call I have seen decide a significant game in a long time. #NCAA #SMU”

“@RealSkipBayless: SMU definitely got robbed. Ref who called goal tend from wing had bad angle and wrong perspective.”

Worst thing that happened to us today was UAB beating Iowa State... no way that they were going to allow the round of 32 game to be a matchup between G5 teams with small fanbases.

Agreed. Recognize that poor play put us in that situation, but the call was flat out wrong and cost us the game. We have to come to terms with this sick reality as well.

I think a lot of folks on here suffer from "Battered Mustang Syndrome"... it's similar to battered wife syndrome where the victims believe that they deserve the abuse they are subjected to.

Yes, we made mistakes at the end... but we also had a 2 point lead when that scumbag in the striped shirt decided to make a call that should have never been made.

Which ref was it? The short white dude with the straight up hair? That guy reffed two games in moody this year. Can't wait to chat with him next year.

Hey Simple Jack, the FT percentage had absolutely NOTHING to do with an official making a game-deciding call for goaltending when the shot had absolutely ZERO chance to go in and was not a reviewable play.

But keep trying to blame this on the players. The officials, with 10 seconds to go in a game that ends one team's season, made a terrible call and it cost us our season. PERIOD.
Back off Warchild seriously.

The "blame on the refs" thing is more the Arkansas Razorback syndrome. They have not lost a game in 20 years, it's just that the refs were wrong.
