Just finished team #86 in the 2nd write thru process of magazine (SMU). Onto team #87 Washington St


The fact he has us at #86 (and right above a P5 team) seems pretty darn good to me, considering what a disaster last season was for us.

86 is not bad. I think we were 81 on his ranking last year so not such a bad drop.

I'm not sure if this is the metric that Phil Steele uses, but other writers like Paul Myerberg (on PreSnapRead and now USA Today) ranked teams according to their predicted number of regular season wins rather than how each team would match up against one another. It sounds strange, but Myerberg's approach tended to be fairly close to the actual Top 25 rankings at the end of each season, if I remember correctly. 86/#130(?) puts us in the 34th percentile, which is pretty much 3-4 wins.

Are we sure this is the ranking? Just saw Texas was 85 and UCF was 79 or so...if true then wow

@JoeT1976 Those are not rankings, just the order I am doing the 2nd write thru. I do not do my rankings until the end of May.

@TrueBlueNoU I just do the teams in the order I get the prospectus's in, I do not have my rankings until the end of May.
