Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoWe can all agree that this year's basketball intro video was worse than having to watch your parents have adult relations with each other. It completely deflated the crowd and probably created depression in some people.
For next year's basketball intro video, I suggest using the piano from Sufjan Steven's Redford. Perhaps do like Red Bull did and add a twist to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb-GWl_w2Lg Or how Sufjan starts his new concert tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuPeCApoy3E
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoI love Sufjan Stevens, but not for an intro video. We need something like the original "I'm Coming Home" video, but no Coheed and Cambria (talk about a buzz kill, and who the hell even likes that type of music?)
http://oldhatcreative.com/work/project/smu-mens-basketball-intro-video I understand we need a new song, but I imagine they can come up with something with the same feel.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoI liked this year's intro video

Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Video
I liked it a lot. Attention needs to be directed to something that has a real impact on the game... ...The Mob.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Video
I liked Coheed..... About 9 years ago in high school. F me I feel so old now...... ![]() BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Video
Yep...go back to having them camp out for tickets, don't force them to attend soccer games or women's volleyball. The students who really care and are passionate about SMU bball will camp out and they will be the ones who are most effective in The Mob 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoI don't understand the gripes about the video. I liked it. It showed off the skyline, fit in with the whole graphics package...
Now I see that the gripers are recommending Sufjan Stevens. LOL. I get it now. Listen guys, it's a basketball game. We're not going to have String Cheese Incident and Eric Clapton playing.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoHow many of our players and prospects not named Wilfong know who Sufjan Stevens is?
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoSearch any of the recent OU football pregame videos if you want to see high quality stuff.
Pony up!
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Video
No thanks.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Videoyou cant really duplicate the emotion of the "coming home" video since we will only open our classic building once. I'm just glad they got that one so correct. I still get chills every single time I see it - which might mean I have an issue.
That piano guy is music to commit suicide by.....you have to be joking? I think if we come up with something that jacks up the players and the students we have succeeded - I don't need to love it - I want them to love it.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Videohip hop preferably from someone younger than 30
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Videohas to have an emotional hook, be meaningful -- that's what made the "I'm Coming Home" video so special. I liked how it started of course. Start slow for emotional build up and then - boom! - highlight reel with upbeat, 'contemporary' music (hip hop is fine with me). I really like the "you're going to know my name by the end of the night . . . bright lights, big city" thing the football team did a few years ago with that blues guitar player I can't remember the name of and am too lazy to look up. That could be the slow build up song . . .

Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro Video
It was a bit. Be a little more versatile.
Re: Next Year's Basketball Intro VideoDefinitely needs to be something for the younger crowd. We old farts do not need any input in this area.
