We SHOULD be able to easily beat out those two teams for guys in our own backyard. Easily. Consistently.
Not sure how we 'easily' beat out a great academic institution in a major city in a P5 conference? Weather and distance the only easy advantages on the surface. Any kid with SMU & Northwestern offers would certainly have a tough decision to make.

Ojai never takes his blinders off. He thinks SMU is the greatest thing since sex

Josh Shelmire matched his previous best from the prior week by again running 22.17 in the 200 Meters and again finishing 2nd at the TAPPs 4A South Regional. Also his team won the 4 x 400 Meter Relay and finished 3rd in the 4 x200 Meter Relay. He had a personnel best of 41.4 in the Triple Jump finishing 5th. His team Lutheran South won the Championship of the South region. Shelmire will have one final week to improve his times at the TAPPs State Championship this weekend at Baylor http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/M ... 31886#4685

SHOULD. I hope we could beat out Northwestern with a Dallas kid.

Depends on who you're doing it with. There have been times I would have rather watched an SMU game. (rarely and no time recently, but it HAS happened).

Really they are very similar - exciting and entertaining at first but once you realize the whole thing will end in disappointment again and again you become less interested

after multiple rain delays and soggy track conditions Josh Shelmire turned in a 200 Meters time well off his usual pace with a 25.87 to finish 8th in the Tapps 4A State Championships. Worst time by far of the year-wonder if he pulled up However, his team did finish 2nd in the 4 x 200 Relay finishing with their best time of the year In a secondary event for Shelmire he triple jumped 40'11.5" to finish 8th http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/A ... Joshua Shelmire pulled his hamstring during 200 meter state championship and limped to the finish line. Out for spring ball and for next 4 weeks.
