J'Marcus Rhodes

Post by ClickClack »

Not sure if this has been mentioned here..J'Marcus Rhodes who left SMU a couple years ago and went to Kilgore JC is now a highly sought after JUCO prospect with offers from ASU, Iowa State, OU, Mizzou, Utah and serious interest from A&M, USC and others. I believe he was rated the #1 JUCO CB.

Always loved this kid's combination of size and speed, to bad he never got to use it at SMU.

Rhodes was working at CB. Secondary coach Derrick Odum said several times he thought Rhodes had a lot of potential.

He said that when he arrived at SMU June Jones wanted him to play at SMU-where he is listed on the roster-but later decided to allow Rhodes to decide where he wanted to play and he picked CB because of the shortage a tall CBs which he thought would give him the best shot at the NFL

Good kid, too many failed (non-academic) tests. Ate his humble pie at Kilgore, played his way into a 4-star, #1 Juco corner in the nation. Gets to choose the big stage now, apparently between Arizona State, Oklahoma & Aggies.
