Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenHe cost himself way more than a million. Not a good move.
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
Correct - not that he or we really had a choice. Hopefully for his sake Under Armour will make it up to him at some point. Shake It Off Moody
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenThey would have done that anyway.
We just had to get this night behind us. Now it's time to turn the page.

✔ ‎@JonRothstein The Denver Nuggets have gotten incredible value here. Emmanuel Mudiay would have been in discussion for 1st or 2nd pick if he went to SMU. 7:23 PM - 25 Jun 2015 "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
He would have been drafted around the same had he gotten injured at SMU (without the million). Your assumption is that he would not have gotten hurt at SMU and you do not know that. It was all about the injury not where he played. He made a good move for him and SMU. It keep us out of a tougher NCAA investigation. #HammerDown
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenLoser: Emmanuel Mudiay
Emmanuel Mudiay was drafted 7th overall, respectively, to the Denver Nuggets in Thursday’s NBA Draft. Mudiay went to high school in Dallas, Texas, and was highly recruited by SMU, but decided to play professionally in China. Brandon Jennings did the same thing in Italy in 2009. Many had Mudiay going 4th to the Knicks, which the fans in New York might have liked a little more, but he slipped down to 7th. He is left wondering where he would have been drafted if he had remained stateside. Read more at http://www.inquisitr.com/2203111/winner ... Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
Why did they use "respectively" in the first sentence? It's nonsensical. Derail the Frogs!
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenAgain, it's all about the injury not where he played. Either way I think he is set and SMU is not under a tougher investigation. Glad he is a multimillion now and able to take care of his family.

Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been@LarryBrownSMU: Excited to see Eman reaching his dreams of being drafted. He's going to be a great pro for a long time. So happy for the Mudiay family!

Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
As always Coach Brown with a classy tweet. Good luck to Eman and it is time for us to move on and look forward to an awesome 2015 season, Go Stangs! #Beat Clemson
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
You're being so simplistic, it hurts. Mudiay was sent to China specifically by UA for diplomacy reasons. He didn't just cover his slide, he covered half his family for life by NOT playing at SMU
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenIn just looking at the first year salary, the top 3 will make more than #7 + $1.2M. http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/rookie_scale/2016
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
You might want to reread what Hoopmanx just said. #HammerDown
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have been
Yes, I read it. Maybe someone can translate the code words into dollars and cents.
Re: WAPO -- Mudiay -- what could have beenExtra exposure of playing in the tournament would have helped him move up, and the difference over a contract would have made up way more than the million he made on China. It was not a good move, unless he and SMU were about to get slapped down- which I have no information on, other than under armour getting ahead of themselves. Hope they are banned from every campus in America.
