Captains: Kris Weeks (#75, OL), Shakiel Randolph (#28, LB), Nicholas Avantino (#53, OL), Taylor Lasecki (#52, C)

Honorary Captain: SMU defensive tackle Harvey Armstrong (1978-81). Armstrong earned All-America honors (1981) and was co-captain of the 1981 National Championship squad. The Houston native would go on to play eight years in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts.

SMU scored its first TD on its first play from scrimmage (Matt Davis 46-yard TD pass to Courtland Sutton, 1-46, 0:08 at 13:53). It was SMU’s first 1-play score since Davis hit Der’rikk Thompson for 64 yards at Tulsa 11/8/2014. (That was also the first play from scrimmage.)

Matt Davis (#4, QB)
- 16-23-166 with 2 TDs passing
- Career-best 2 TD passes
- 115 yards rushing (24 carries), 3rd 100-yard game (averaging 108.3 rushing yards in 6 starts)

Kevin Johnson (#12, DB/KR) - Had 3 kickoff returns for 53 yards (long of 22)

Darius Joseph (#18, WR) - Had 1 reception for 13 yards (now has 166 career receptions, moves into 9th at SMU)

Jarvis Pruitt (#34, LB) – First career solo sack, 3 total tackles

Darrion Richardson (#29, FS)
- Had an interception, returned 32 yards (3rd of his career)
- Career-high 2 breakups
- Had 7 tackles

Horace Richardson (#9, CB) - Career-high 7 tackles (was 6)

Courtland Sutton (#16, WR)
- Career-highs of 3 receptions, 82 yards and 2 TDs (had 2 catches for 27 yards in 2014)
- Had a 46-yard TD reception from Matt Davis on SMU first play from scrimmage

Braeden West (#6, RB/KR) - Had a 2 kickoff returns for 69 yards, including 49 yards on his first career attempt (set up 1st SMU TD)

So in six career starts for Davis, we have scored on our first offensive play twice now. I like that percentage.
