He may not be around to make any changes at the end of the season.

After watching Texas play ND, Strong better just worry about playing Rice next week. A lose to Rice and that might shake things up in a hurry at UT.

If they only beat Rice, ISU, and KU then Strong is gone.. They should fire him because he has no QB in development that he can say it will be better next year.

Especially given A&M's resurgence. UT is getting killed by A&M in recruiting and after this debacle it will get much worse.
That UT offense is an embarrassment . Just horrible.

Texas and A&M finished almost with identically ranked classes last year-in fact Texas had better rating on average per recruit

Thus far, Morris has produced a better product than Strong given the vast difference in talent, recruiting resources and heritage at the institutions. Not to say SMU beats TU, but TU's O is ineffective where as SMU has put together a much more respectable offense in less than a year.

We have a very long way to go and once again 2 or 3 injuries changes things drastically. But Morris appears to be a better value than Strong at least for now.

let's hope Texas has some success in Big XII play because the last thing we need is for them to give up on Charlie Strong and to come after Chad Morris. I can only imagine how quickly Morris could turn that Texas program around and I think he would very quickly own the state of Texas in recruiting

It really is baffling how Texas struggles at all with the resources and recruiting advantages they have just by existing. At an event before the season where Morris, Sumlin, Kingsbury, Briles and Bailiff all spoke I came away thinking Bailiff would crush it at Texas as well given what he's overcome at Rice.

Morris will never be considered for the TU job. That would.d be a very public admission that once again another small, private, Texas school has a better football product than TU. TU's pride would never allow them to admit that all their money and heritage and clout ended up with lowly SMU having the best coach in Texas.

You're right Stallion. But I was more referring to the current class. I know it's early but A&M is landing more and better prospects. If this season unravels for UT then their recruits will certainly be at risk.

I'm just baffled why they didnt get a stud QB recruit last year or via the transfer / JUCO route. Kyler Murray went to A&M when I'm sure Strong all but offered him the starting job. QBs must see a horrible Oline and don't have confidence in the coaches to develop one and develop their QB talents.

That's what gets you fired - when you can't recruit good QBs.
