Yeah....not so fast. I don't like that a TCU fan won the tickets, nor do I like where I women's soccer program is now regarding talent. But that in itself is not a fail. I do like that they brought in over 1K fans in attendance. Contrary to popular sentiment here on PonyFans, football is not the only sport on campus. Having said that, nothing brings the campus together more than a successful football program. All respect given to LB and the basketball team...but this is TX. With both football and basketball raising the tide in performance and expectations, attendance and school spirit will follow for both those programs as well as smaller sports. To get 1K fans in attendance at a women's soccer game is a great sign.
My only complaint is if we are giving away tickets to an SMU-TCU football game at an event featuring SMU vs. TCU, we should limit the entries to SMU fans. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
If you are insinuating the entire crowd was TCU people, you are incorrect. It was about 60-40, and I agree it will be nice when the crowds are 60-40 for SMU/TCU women's soccer games in Ft. Worth.
