Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10As will BYU, Army, Navy and Notre Dame. I guess the Big 10 does not think to highly of the rest of the AAC. Looks like if the Big 10 expanded that Cincinnati, Navy, and UConn would have better chances than SMU and the others.

I think its a positive for our entire league though. I don't know if I see some of the conferences expanding any further. I think our best bet for now is for the American to become a power conference on its own. Teams just have to keep winning their OOC games and hopefully win the New Years Day bowl game (and the others).

Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10AsOr maybe it is because UConn and Cincy are already on the future schedules of big 10 teams and they only evaluated teams that big 10 teams requested waivers for.
Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
Possibly. At first I thought it might be a regional thing but then Temple would be included as well. Of course, Temple beats Big 10 teams. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
Not really because Cincinnati and UConn have been trying to jump ship for a long time. So they will not us this to try to help the AAC but only to pad their resume to move to a P5 conference. And the AAC will not be allowed to become a power conference since it was removed as a power conference by the powers that be. #HammerDown

Exactly these games were scheduled prior to the new edict and it would have cost too much for Indiana to replace
Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
Basically i was just saying what it says in the article. They are not just scanning the non p5 universe and announcing which teams qualified. They have waivers for the teams that teams in their league requested waivers for because they have games scheduled with them.

SMU is on the future schedule of Michigan. Last edited by Rebel10 on Tue Sep 22, 2015 12:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
More like the Big 10 is worried that even those games might be too difficult for Indiana to win. If a P5 team can't afford to buy out a home and home with a G5 school, said P5 program shouldn't be in a P5 conference.
Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
OK, thanks. I didn't read the article since I don't have Internet access right now. We will see if they add SMU if Michigan needs it. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Cincinnati & UConn will count toward P5 games for Big 10
Good point. Michigan also has Arkansas on the schedule in 2018 so they do not need a waiver from the requirement to play one non conference p5 school each year.
