Comparing this season and the effort this staff is getting to anything from the previous regime is just asinine. Newsflash- we were 25.5 pt underdogs not sure what you're expecting to see

Re: Houston game thread
And that is what you use at the half to motivate they players. "We're playing 2 teams tonight so you better bring it! Execute with violent power and surgical precision, finish every play, then hey back to the line and beat your man again. Fight every down, battle every series, and win both quarters and you win the game."ReedFrawg wrote:Guys you got screwed on that non holding call. Instead of a 10 yard penalty they pick up 30 yards. Refs gifted them that TD...and I agree that the refs have to try to NOT see/call that. It was blatant holding.

I think our O has shown us a lot and has made great strides from last year. Our D is a joke and a disaster. I can't believe these guys didn't learn how to tackle etc. when they were in HS.

Yes we don't have the talent I get it, but there's no excuse for the way our defense is giving up such easy drives.
Next year we've got to get our 2015 and 2016 kids on the field so expect a lot more suckage as those guys get used to the speed of FBS.

complete mismatch speed-wise, or maybe you haven't noticed? As Coach Morris has pointed out many times, you either have speed or you are chasing it. Fortunately, our offense is keeping us in the game and we would be leading if not for the turnoversPakiMustang_91 wrote:And I don't like the fact that we're already setting up excuses for the next year to suck on defense as well. Re: Houston game thread
if we have 12-13 true and redshirt freshman contributing we aren't going to improve much

Re: Houston game thread
typically our lack of depth rears it's ugly head in 2nd half; will be interesting to see how it plays out tonight. Houston is nothing special compared to other teams we've lost to this year

Re: Houston game thread
The last score was a gut punch but we are doing much better than I expected.
Houston is like first in the nation in turnover margin over the past couple of years. They're living right. We have a chance for a pick deep in their territory and we drop it. That's just how it goes.
Braeden West is playing himself out of the lineup. Two huge turnovers.
We're so much better than at any point last year. If you honestly can't see that then you're ignorant of the sport.
This defense is at least two full years away from being decent. We get blown off the ball. Our LB's are slow and non-instinctive. We are passive and weak in the secondary. Lawler and Pruitt are the only bright spots.
Sticking with my original prediction of 59-35 Coogs.

We played all our depth in first half too. Everybody is playing. We run every body out there

at least we can offer a potential recruit a lot of playing time next year if he can step up and do the job.

Hahhaaha- seriously? Turnovers aren't lack of effort- true freshmen making freshmen mistakes. West on the fumbles and Jones missed the block on Davis sack/fumble. The defense just doesnt have talent.ojaipony wrote:Effort.gostangs wrote:Oja - you been smoking some weed? What were you really expecting in year one coming off of trash year?
