...and with consultation with a special committee of the Board of Trustees

one thing SMU fans should already know about dead bodies is that they rarely are dug up until well after the NCAA has lowered the boom. There are clear loose ends to this episode. No. 1 NCAA apparently simply accepted the DISD report on grade changes at Kimball. Administrative assistant just walked out on NCAA investigation and subsequently refused to cooperate.

this entire thing needs to be a lesson in crisis protocol. Study it from stem to stern, so next time we can get everyone on the same page from Day 1. Either come clean or lock it down but lets stop tripping over our own junk

I'm just so disappointed in our team at the top on this one. Not in general, but on this incident, our defense of ourselves with the NCAA, and the decision not to appeal the post season ban i really think they blew it.

But no - I'm not going anywhere. I lasted this long. Its a life sentence.

Very true...but absent a lot of things occurring that I never hope we learn about, I can't see how you say this is anything close to the worst level of programs. Maybe you are saying that the landscape has changed over the past 2 years and the NCAA in general has a suddenly better level of compliance across the board. Just don't buy it. Or are you saying we are offering up hookers and blow too? (and yes, I throw in the blow because offering recruits either hookers or blow is amateur hour man...real programs don't make that mistake!).

Im honestly interested in your opinion, since i think you follow all that better than anyone on this board.

I certainly get where you're coming from. On the surface, Hobbie's promotion baffles the mind but its got a few layers. First, Jay Duncan is a rising star in the industry as is Sean Stoudt. Duncan has turned down more than a few bench opportunities to stay w/LB. By moving up Hobbie, you can move up the other two and reward them.

Now, who do you think is primary on Harrison Froling, responsible for Markus Kennedy etc? Hell, Duncs was LBs first SMU NCAA inquiry. They sniffed that Kennedy coming to SMU was tied to Duncs etc.

Honestly, moving Hobbie up probably saved a few bucks and you can't replace Ulric w/Ulric.

I'm just saying, over a two year stretch, we were as flamboyant as anyone in the land. We just employed a variety of methods to acquire personnel. Our first signing was Josiah Turner lol.

Someone tell me how we're allowed to take our sanctioned team to Europe next Spring? For some reason it sounds like a tour of brothels and opium dens w/a side of beach and hoops. Is that heaven
