The injury suffered against Michigan by SMU senior Markus Kennedy is not as bad as initially feared.

It's a sprained left ankle with no structural damage. Return TBD.

He should take the next to games off and just rest and hit the books.

Yikes that is a lot of swelling. Wonder when that picture was taken. No need for him to play before Vegas at the earliest. Time for lots of ice and staying off it.

Wow, remind me of my right ankle 4 years after I finished playing football. My ankle stayed swollen for years after playing and it never bothered me. And I never missed a day of practice or a game because of aa sprained ankle. And I had my share of painful ones.

His may be worse, but not all ankle sprains take days, weeks, months or even years to heal before one can play.
