Where is Memphis going? They got vetoed by Texas due to academics. Houston is using academic funds for athletics which will never fly at SMU and I am fine with that

The step back suffered by OSU offensively combined with the step up by Houston shows that Herman is a great coach. They are going to be very good for quite a while. It is also important to note that the experience of their coaching staff dwarfs ours.

This^. We have a long, long way to go in recruiting and staff. We could also use a few less hugs and a few more [deleted] chewins.

i wouldn't say a long way. Better athletes mean you start winning - and then suddenly your coaches look "experienced and seasoned".

not fair to judge him with 100 pct June players. Give him 24 months and we will see. Year one the offense got help. This next class is mostly defensive help.

Malone basically put up almost identical defensive stats as one of those "experienced defensive staffs" led by Mason in 2014 and the 3 best SMU defenders graduated in 2014. Actually they ranked about 10 rungs higher if you are talking about NCAA rank and they played a tougher offensive schedule. Oh and BTW they gave up about 25 yards a games less than Tulsa with the grizzled DC who turned SMU down to coach at Tulsa. Sorry, you guys couldn't see 2015 was going to be a disaster on defense especially since we didn't add hardly any defensive help from the 2015 recruiting class. Many of us having been telling you this talent void was coming-some didn't see it. MANY did and have been stating SMU was stair-stepping down in talent for 3 years. I got news for you-2016 maybe worse because about 12-14 freshman are going to playing their first game. The good news is that there is some real talent among about 18 new defensive players that Morris has recruited. You can just about forget about getting much from the Soph-Seniors on the defense. You won't see much improvement until about 2017-we'll still be young in 2017. The Defensive Rebuild STARTS in 2016-not in 2015 since none of those guys will be around when the build is completed. Book it.

Stallion, is SMU only needing a Stadium to get to where TCU and UH are right now? With all the talent in DFW...

No-see above where I said SMU isn't UH-it has its own unique issues decades old. As I've pointed out UH will have been ranked in the Top 20 in 14 different seasons since 1968 and they've at least made appearances in the Top 25 in about 4-5 seasons even since the SWC broke up

I do think SMU built the ideal CUSA stadium when UH built a Stadium that could project them into a P5 conference but I understand the zoning limitations for that.

i'd tap the brakes on UH being at TCU level - that is just not the case.

It is just recruiting, which we are well underway with. THe facility we need is the IPF - and it is also underway having been approved by the BOT recently.

Wonder what was in the cup? Greatness of live TV before they cut to the commercial.
