I didn't have a good vantage point on the elbow, seemed intentional but foster was also right in his grill. Don't think sabonis was a thug at all. If the refs let you go over the back on the boards repeatedly and clear space on the block with your off arm, wouldn't you do it? I don't blame him. Great player, made me recall seeing his dad play for the Russian national team on tour of America for exhibition games against colleges way back in the day. Gonzaga is a great program, hope we renew the series , really like mark few.

It was clearly intentional on TV. I think the fact that it was called a technical instead of a flagrant 1 is proof that the refs knew it was intentional and just didn't want to eject him for a flagrant 2.

Wife and I for the Michigan game - WOW on that one also. We played Larry/Jank ball all night.
Maybe I'll just call it Lank Ball.
Great D and energy on the O side.
Sweet Lank ball.

Ben Moore catches some Flak here from time to time for not showing.

Ben was awesome last night.

Big time showing.

Yes we'll miss Nic, MK and JT.

But I'm confident that Ben and Sterling can lead next year.

In fact, I'm certain.

It was called a fragrant 1 by the refs. He should have been off, but I'm glad he wasn't. A chance to show how good we are

Can anyone explain what the difference was between Sterling getting tossed in the Michigan game and the Zag bench player walking on the court to escort his teammate off after the the flagrant call?

Definitely a one-sided game from the ref's perspective. Sabonis went over the back a ton, but if one of our guys (Brown, Jarraey, Shake) went high to tip a ball from behind, over the back was called immediately.

Also, no mentions on here of the Vlade Divac impersonation? That was absurd.

FYI, the same ref that called the flop also made hand movements 3 separate times during the game on Nic, indicating that he was timing for a 5 second violation when that rule was repealed.

I haven't seen replays, but I thought the elbow incident was the right call. Violent contact, but it looked like we had Sabonis by the neck and he was just wrestling away from that and broke free and slammed into Foster.

We got a little lucky that 33 was off, he had several open looks that he missed on. We have to help a lot inside from the backside, that is why the backside three is so wide open. Convinced now that we need another big to go along with Froling inside to make sure we actually have some defensive size and don't need to help so much.

Great to see Ben go head to head against an NBA draft pick and completely dominate the matchup. Don't think that wasn't noticed on both sides of the court by scouts.

On TV they said that it was called a technical not a flagrant foul.

I just watched it again and it was clearly intentional. He even looked back before he threw the elbow. Should have been ejected. No question.
