Re: UConn womenUConn's dominance just shows how little talent is in women's basketball. Not much talent after the first 5-10 teams.

Re: UConn womenMiss. St. held to single digits each of the first 3 quarters. Not even a game yet for UConn.
Re: UConn womenOh and by the way, Miss. St. beat us by 2 earlier this season.
Re: UConn women
In my part of the country Comcast carries a Geno Auriemma show every week which provides considerable insights into the way he coaches and thinks. For example, he breaks down his frosh just like the military does for new recruits in boot camp. They must throw away all the AAU and high school garbage and buy into his system. Some kids take several years to come around, but at some point he starts building them back up. He is a master at psychology and is absolutely on the same page with his long time assistant coaches. Everything is for the team and he expects his seniors to lead. His practices are both physically and mentally demanding to the point that everyone understands the system, their role and how they play offense and defense. He is very direct, critical and fair. Ultimately, his kids can run every play on O and D in their sleep with the total confidence and trust in the coaching staff and for each team mate. He would be a total success coaching any sport or running any business. I could almost guarantee you that if he had the current SMU team for 2 years that they would be a final 8 team. Yes, he get the talent, but his coaching in every aspect is superior to anything in the women's game allowing the talent to evolve with the confidence and mental toughness to win. This guy is special.
Re: UConn womenIt would be interesting to see if anyone could lure his longtime (30 years) assistant, Chris Dailey, away with a HC gig.
30 years of beng his sidekick is enough. Last edited by Digetydog on Mon Mar 28, 2016 4:32 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: UConn womenGeno has an open door policy for AAC coaches to go learn how he coaches.
Re: UConn womenHas a P5 school ever tried to hire him as their men's coach?
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: UConn womenPer @darrenrovell UConn women are a 30.5 point favorite in tonight's Elite 8 game vs Texas. 88% of $ at 105 William Hill sportsbooks taking Huskies to cover!
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: UConn womenHuskies didn't cover. Won by 21. But still impressive.
Re: UConn womenTexas played well but couldn't keep up
Re: UConn women
If people are betting on women's BB, they probably have a gambling problem. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: UConn women
Lol! Anyone that bets on UCONN is an idiot. They are going to lose at some point and when they do, people betting on them will lose big on that game.
Re: UConn women
I'm sure there are folks betting against them who will cash in big whenever they finally lose.
Re: UConn womenAssuming they beat Oregon St. in the final 4, they will face either a 7 or 4 seed in the championship. They could win by 40.
