The NCAA: SMU vs North Carolina vs Louisville

The NCAA continues to drag their feet ruling on any punishment for North Carolina and Louisville. Why hasn't SMU asked for a ruling on the NCAA findings at North Carolina and Louisville? Why hasn't the media asked for a ruling on NCAA findings? I recognize that what happened at SMU, North Carolina, and Louisville is like comparing apples and oranges. Shouldn't SMU make sure that the NCAA allegations and resulting punishment fit the crime. The NCAA needs to be held accountable.

McCants (North Carolina) admitted on ESPN that he and other players did not have to go to class, got free grades, grade changes, special treatment. It is public knowledge that this went on at North Carolina for multiple years in both basketball and football. Multiple current and former Louisville players and potential recruits have openly admitted to the parties and money that was thrown around. SMU had one player at the center of the NCAA allegations (who has since transferred). Both North Carolina and Louisville have multiple players over multiple years at the center of NCAA allegations.

I fully recognize that the NCAA is a joke and that the large universities get preferential treatment, but I would like to think that SMU has more than enough resources to fight the NCAA and expect comparable justice. The NCAA had no problem issuing a swift/harsh punishment to a small private school in SMU for a minor infraction. I hope that SMU can or has already started appealing the harsh punishment from the NCAA.

Remember, NCAA took some time hitting us. Also, academic fraud for more than athletes (UNC) is a school wide issue that will take some time to work out. At Louisville, this seems to be a specific recruiting violation - just basketball players by an assistant coach. I think UL is going to be hit hard, but it probably will be during the Summer before anything is known - could still being investigated.

It would stand to reason that if they are going to give us some relief it will be at they same time they are ready to announce the lenient penalties for UNC. That way it will make it harder for us to [deleted] about the unfair NCAA when they just gave us a break.
