Re: Baylor is screwedI thought he was going to praise Ken Starr and Art Briles for "covering up" the sexual assaults for years and blame the Board of Trustees for initiating a private investigation, self reporting to the NCAA and firing Briles/Starr. That's the Mexmustang Good Ole Boy way

Re: Baylor is screwedBack in 2003 when Dave Bliss attempted to cover up the murder of a Baylor basketball player, Patrick Dennehy by his teammate, Carlton Dotson, the University hired Bill Cosby to speak to the student body in an attempt to boost University morale after the scandal. Does anyone beside me find that ironic?

Re: Baylor is screwedWas anyone else puzzled by the lack of details in both Baylor's Findings of Fact and the law firm's report?
Re: Baylor is screwed
Not puzzled. The details are outlined in a different part of the report. The complete report won't be released until September. The Findings are in essence the "conclusions" based on the facts. So if you state, for example, that Finding No.1 is: "The University failed to exercise proper control over the athletic department", the basis for this Finding are the details outlined in the Report itself. It might be 5, 6, 20 different facts that lead to that ultimate conclusion. For now, Baylor is releasing the Findings to justify/support the actions it is taking. It has to be extremely careful, from a liability standpoint, to release facts pertaining to individuals, when the report was produced by a law firm with no subpoena power and individuals who provided information were not under penalty of perjury. Baylor has good legal representation at this point. That you can be sure of.....
Re: Baylor is screwedNote the NCAA doesn't release names either ex. "compliance officer", "assistant basketball coach" or "recruiting representative" instead of actual names of the accused

Ha! Looked stupid didn't it? Hard to type when you can't see the screen on a tablet.
Re: Baylor is screwedI assume that there is still a press conference scheduled for June 3. I think there may be some additional heads rolling around at that time. Just my opinion.

Re: Baylor is screwedAnd you have to think the NCAA allows transfers without penalty very soon.

I'd also add that it's been noted in several articles that this firm is well known as a good hire from the standpoint of the university. One article I read referred to them as an excellent choice if you know you're hosed, want credit for an outside review, but want it written for your benefit. The entire unredacted report would be interesting, but I'd bet documents and info unearthed during the discovery period in the upcoming trials will be much more interesting and informative.
