Kid is a stud and I agree, Stallion, we may have had the best freshman we signed fall into our lap. I think he could be used in any number of ways.

I know they want to red shirt him, but Thomas would provide the RB banger we need. May not be able to wait based on what I saw.

Also - that QB signed with Alabama for a reason. I think UNT will improve quite a bit over the year as they get used to the new coach and start playing their level talent. They will have a good year I would guess.

We'll see better football this year, but we still have a long road.
I agree with 2-4. The only reason I disagree with #1 ,we play some AAC schools with serious issues. If we can beat Liberty, I think we get to 4-6 depending on injuries,

UNT backup QB looked way better than their starter. I suspect Mr. Alabama will be commanding the sideline instead of the huddle very soon.

Liberty, Tulane , temple plus one surprise.
Total of five. They need to unleash Thomas in the backfield. That will be worth at least one win down the road by helping us to play keep away and run off some clock and keep a lead (since our kicker and linebackers are sub par currently). West is too small and Xavier is not a banger.

I think K. Freemon is a banger with speed from what I saw. Coach Mathis is really doing a good job with the RB's.

Exactly. These comments about needing a big back are puzzling....there's a reason ke'mon didn't redshirt

First game of the year and LOTS of mistakes. OL looked timid (and weak) to me. They better be ready for Saturday or Baylor will destroy them. The entire defense is better than last year particularly the DL and linebackers. Good blitzing 2nd half. Can they stop Baylor? To many penalties at bad times. I thought the team looked a bit lost at times. I think they will know more about how the system works next week. However, (like others have said) we are a better team this year then we were last year. And, I think we have a shot at 6 wins and a bowl. But we have to cut down mistakes to do that.

BTW SMU did a good job on defense against the running game. UNT did pretty well in the passing game. But, I think that will be UNT's strength all year. So the question is how does their passing game match up against those in the AAC?
On offense SUTTON is awesome! If this is any true indication, he may be the best college player in football today.

NTSU actually had two returning quality backs. One ran for over 800 yards last year but in different offense

We'll see a lot better passing attacks in the AAC. NTSU really doesn't have the personnel for what they want to run.

Don't downplay Liberty. The gave VT all it could handle for 3Qs.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Ol played better in the second half. Once Davis threw the pick he was really rattled and started to pull the ball down and move like crazy when the pocket wasn't collapsing and scrambled into trouble. Hicks had a couple of passes he could have completed but wasn't accurate with the throws.
Screens killed us because lb play still isn't very good. Lots of miscommunication on routes cut to the inside in the secondary. Not sure if Horace was beat that badly or if he was expecting inside help that wasn't there. I tend to believe we had a lot of blown coverages.
I wish we would do what ut did with buchele tonight. Pre snap read. One option post snap and the. Tuck it and run. Davis would be a lot more effective in that style of system than trying to make reads now post snap.

The comments about a banger back are because many of us have seen Thomas in action in practice, and he is the best back we have. Therefore we would like to see him in the game.
