Granted the above post might be very rash. I am just VERY nervous and don't want the progress made in the program to go away.

Buzz Williams was interested pre-LB. If we have to replace Jank on down the road this will be a very attractive job

Progress will not diminish at a high rate of speed but next year's team and the 2018 recruiting class will tell a lot because Jank will have had a fun year to coach the team and recruit.

Hope so. I was at school through the Doh years so never witnessed something like we have. It is special and I want it to stay that way. Hopefully it starts tomorrow

Always thought Buzz just played us for a bigger contract at Marquette, but maybe there was genuine interest.

Seeing as how he left for Virginia Tech, I think he was ready to get out. Granted, VT is in the ACC but I still think Marquette is a better job all things considered. I believe he's from Texas and may have had an interest in getting back here

ECM, I agree with your earlier post. We need to lose one guard to attrition after this season (Emelogu) or we will be stuck with only being able to sign 1 guy in the 2018 class. We are going to be guard heavy next year with Shake, Jarrey, Whitt, Wilson, McDowell, Douglas, and Landrum (even not including Gu).
I know ideally you dont wanna get rid of a veteran guard, but unless you wanna chase off Wilson or Mcdowell, it would need to be him. Thats what happens when you have scholarship restrictions. We don't wanna be stuck in a worse place down the road, because we want Gu insurance while we have 2-3 guards sitting on the bench not playing much (1 or 2 might barley play at all) eating up space for more recruits that can make us better down the line and younger plays to get some extra minutes.
I doubt we force anyone out though..

You're correct. So it should be 11 and 11 next two years, but without attrition we will be at 12 next year meaning would would only be able to have 10 schollie guys the following year.

No we are at 10 scholly players this year. Whitt's counts even though he can't play.

I know, I think we all said it was just Minus-3 Schollie's this year, since Whitt's counts.

I wonder if there could also be an odd man out between Wilson and McDowell this year...whichever one is getting less PT at the end of the year. With Whitt, Douglas, and Landrum coming on board next year, if you're not getting decent PT with our short bench now it might not get much better in 2017 and beyond.

Could be. Too early to know, but could be. I don't see McDowell transferring. Everything I have read/seen says he will stay put and try to work and become a player down the line. Wilson I could see transferring or going back to Australia if he ends up being the 9th man and not playing alot. Long way from home. (I like Wilson's long term though) I think Gu would be the easiest to let go.
