AAC formula for a 6 seed*30 wins
*Conference championship Lather, rinse, repeat .......
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seedwe do all need to get over the seeding issue. Last time I checked, 2 sevens, an eight and an 11 seed punched their tickets for the sweet 16. You have to bring your best game to the dance and we didn't.
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seedCharleston, you saying seeding doesn't matter?
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seedSeeding only impacts the first round game - you might be able to play a team that got an automatic bid from a small conference. After that, you face one of the top 32 teams that already have at least one win (may have two wins if in a play in game) and need to win 5 to win the national championship. It could be a disadvantage to have an easy game in the first round.
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seedits definitely NOT a disadvantage to have any easy games. There is a reason the better teams (in the NCAA eyes) play the lower seed teams.
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seed
I bet Villanova would have benefited from a more challenging first round opponent than a team that came off a play in game they beat by 20 points. Significant jump in competition with Wisconsin in round 2.
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seed
No they would not have. Just ask Dayton. Plus Wisconsin was very underseeded. Most teams with number 1 seeds are not clamoring to play harder teams. Had they played Wisconsin in the first round they would have lost then too. Wisconsin won the Big 10 regular season title and was an 8 seed. That is almost crazy. #HammerDown
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seedearn a 1, 2 or maybe a 3 and you get one relatively easy game, but beyond that it's pretty competitive. I'm not going to complain about at 5 vs 6 vs 7 seed and if the goal is to at least make the 2nd weekend, you are going to have to beat a really good team
Re: AAC formula for a 6 seed4 seeds are pretty good too. I think SMU earned a 4 seed with a 30-4 record and conference championship.
