Reports the program's post Larry Brown demise are greatly exaggerated.

Seems like great news. One thing I didn't catch while following the Mike threads and watching the highlight tape was why is he transferring? Does anyone know anything beyond conjecture? Just curious.

The Dukes finished the season 1-13 and dead last in the A-10.
I took a quick glance at their board and, while many were really bummed to see him go a few pointed out that he moved around a bit in high school too. I guess every board has it's "optimists."

I saw same thread - some fans pointed out that perhaps he wanted to win a few games and not play in front of empty home arenas. The fans were very sad to see him go as he was their future star.

Kind of funny that you no longer can include UCONN or Memphis as the rowdiest game atmospheres!

Actually it's kind of sad. After the beat downs they took this past year in Moody they are going to have to work their way back onto the list. Tulane played us tougher.

It's easy for the boys to get up for a team like Tulane

In a way, except history: UConn hoops > SMU hoops and TCU football = SMU football.

Having said that, it's actually pretty clear to me that TCU has now passed us historically in football. Our glory days in the far distant past are roughly equivalent to theirs. And our history from the 1980's has arguably been surpassed by recent TCU. Good for them, though I still hate them intensely.
