SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover Margin+10
....but really that's largely because they Offense rarely turns it over http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/29 Tied for 7th in Fewest Turnovers with 6 http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/461 "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginStill haven’t lost a fumble?
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginAmazing that we haven't lost a fumble but also have to give Hicks credit for making better decisions and not throwing the picks he did last year. He's been lucky a few times but has improved tremendously between his 1st and 2nd years, as you would hope.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginThose three games, where I thought we were headed for the dumpster, UConn, UC, and Tulsa, have made me a believer in this offense and Hicks. What a change from the past. Keep it up, 'Stangs.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginOur running backs not fumbling is really impression. Two are smaller than average and the ball doesn't even come close to popping out. It isn't like we are recovering fumbles. We just never fumble the ball. Our coaching staff does a great job teaching ball security.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover Margin
Freeman is 207 lbs Jones is 203 lbs West is 170 lbs I don’t think you realize how much Jones has physically developed.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginI do not think anyone on this thread knows the word “jinx”.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginI thought freeman looked best vs Tulsa. Hope he starts getting the ball more. We need a bigger style runner vs bigger faster teams like UCF.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginSometimes-Jones and Freeman get into the habit of too much dancing-I love how West hits to hole at 90 mph-he's a brave young man at 170

Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginHe practices against our linebackers :/
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginWest technically fumbled the ball twice. He just happen to pick the ball up without the threat of the opposing team taking it.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginWest is our most explosive running back (and best receiving threat). X. Jones is our more traditional type even if a little under sized he still runs hard. Freeman is a closer. And although I've been on the X. Jones bandwagon, I think B. West should get more carries against these next 3 teams. I'd start Jones, and of course stick with the hot hand, but I'd like to see West get a bit more involved in the offense. We will need to score 50 in each of these games to win any of them. I'm doubtful but I hope we can sneak in one.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginI would like to see more West in the 2 minute drill portions of the game. He has better home run potential than the others and is tougher to manage when he comes out of the backfield.
Other than that, I think the coaches do a good job getting each of them touches. Was Medlock ever tried on any of the return teams? I've seen him on the punt return, but never as the returner. From the little I've seen of him, he looks really explosive. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover MarginWe will need a banger agasint much bigger faster LB's than we have seen, other than maybe TCU. Our little guys will get swallowed up. Freeman should be ready for some plays.
Re: SMU Tied for 3rd in Turnover Margin
Again, Freeman 207 lbs. Jones 203 lbs.
