Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!our resident Ticket Scalper
You're that guy outside of Ford and Moody yelling "Whose got extra Tickets" "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!
Na they were cheap I just bought them thank you so much though. They showed up in the account portal. Actually there is 7 of them going now I think I'm just going to stay home
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!Funny story.
Do they realize there aren’t enough people left at the end of the game to storm one end zone? Party at The Wopper!
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!
Half of these are all little kids. Somehow it was a take over where I was going to have to be a Romper Room referee no thanks
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!I seem to recall tens of SMU fans storming the field after the Houston game last year. Maybe a repeat tonight?
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!Wait
We have FANS?!?!
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!looks like as many as 18k tonight
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!
How many schools have the collapsible goal post? Peruna is my mascot!
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!Usually watching our games on TV, there is noticeable silence compared to other televised games but tonight, especially in the 1st half, there was clearly more crowd noise. Looked like a lo of people bailed after halftime...they missed an exciting 2nd half.
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!My father-in-law was blown away that I made the prediction (any SMU fan easily would put a bet) that our students bolt after they announce HC King and Queen. He was just beyond shocked. I told him... yeah it's not UT. We don't have students who give 2 [deleted] about our football program. We only fill Moody because its like 8k people area, just plop the football fans in there and you have an overfill.

Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!
One of my former students, current SMU student, came over and watched the 4th Q with me and my wife, because all her friends left after half. When asked why, she said, "My roommate said she needed to rest before going to the club later." Really sad, because it looked like HCCM reached out to the Greeks trying to build rapport with them.
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!As many of us know, we don't have fans, we have casual observers.
In line for drinks at the Cox tailgate I actually heard a guy say to his buddy, "yeah they look better but I just figure I'll jump on the bandwagon if they ever get really good. Until then I don't have time for it" Our "fanbase", right there.
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!Yesterday was depressing from that aspect.
There were easily enough people on the boulevard to fill up the stadium. Our band walked by, and nobody even noticed. Nobody was packing up and getting ready. In fact, the hired bands were still playing. It isn't even about watching other college football games or anything like that. People just want to get sloshed more than they want to walk over 100 feet and watch SMU play. Solution - change the ticket price to the endzone and upper deck visitor side permanently to $10, and require a ticket to get on the boulevard. Sell tickets at the boulevard entrance. If they aren't going to go into the game, at least be able to claim attendance. Force students to pick up their tickets in order to get into their tailgate area. Maybe if we do that, some additional people will find a way to walk over and go into the game...
Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!that will be considered I'm sure in the future as financing for College Football for G5 teams is brutal especially with player "cost of attendance" increase. Don't charge those with a Ticket-screw those that we throw a party for that don't go to the game

Re: SMU Fans are HOSTILE!!!We always let everyone grab a beer or drink at our boulevard spot. I now outwardly tell them they can't have one unless they are going to the game, and I make em show me the ticket . I'm. Tired of paying for drinks for non fans, especially students.
