IΓÇÖd love to have Chad back without Malone.

Congratulations, Mustangs fans, we can now safely say that SMU is more committed to winning in football than at least 1 SEC program.

A&M still a likely spot. I have to think Tennessee is in the mix as well.

Florida hires Dan Mullen. Miss St now open-I think my prediction of 4 new hirers in 72 hours might be conservative

Still shocking to me that Chad will be here for a fourth year. Ole Miss and A&M aren't happening.

He did a decent job and can be the go between while they ride out their penalties. Might be they could not get good interest with the NCAA stuff in play.

I know of 1 sitting AAC head coach that wanted the job and, let's be real here, Lane Kiffin would crawl to any program in the SEC West for the opportunity to troll Nick Saban on a daily basis... these were what I would have considered good but not spectacular hires. Both would have been better than Matt Luke.

Ole Miss now holds the distinction of having made the 2 worst, on paper, hires in the modern history of the SEC (I'm not including Schiano at Tennessee because they backed out before the ink was fully dry on the contract).

I still think Chad to A$M is the most likely scenario but he is obviously their "fall back" candidate at this point, so let's see how it all plays out this week. Schools are having to move fast because of the new early signing date

Right, Chad has his bags packed, and just hoping someone will give him a bus ticket out of here.

I love Chad and glad we have him - but I just don't think the Aggies want to make a 5M hire based on his current resume. They think they are a better destination than that.
