I am worried about attendance for that Halloween game, too. This could be really ugly.

Are we getting a screw-job by the Conference? Did ESPN go to the Conference and say we are going to put you on TV for Halloween night - give us a game? Are Tuesday night games going to be a regular thing for C-USA going forward? I sure hope not.

You want a recruiting tool...take SMU girls in their typical Halloween costumes of naught nurses and catholic school girls and put it all on national television.

we are playing on Halloween and its a Tuesday? That will be an attendance disaster, no doubt about it. Not even sure that any amount of promotion can make that crowd respectable.

woe is not us, but we have to know our limitations. When you are trying to keep ahead of ncaa minimum attendance requirements, you have to consider these things.

We will also need to get the word out that every season ticket holder will need to sit on the East side of Ford.

Done right it can be a boon, wrong a bust. Have Frat and Sorority costume contests with big prizes. Have a haunted house for kiddies to go thru and play in during the game. Do something like they did with the kids working the game or the kids with a football clinic, only with a halloween theme. Open up at 4:00 or 4:30 for parents that can to come early and beat some of the traffic. If you do something with the frats and Soros, award the prize after the game so they do not all leave at halftime. It will still be "college days early" after the game is done for other parties. A Tuesday night halloween means none of them are going to go to class Wednesday morning anyway.

This will be an excellent test for the new AD to promote this one to the hilt. If we perform on the field as we should up to that point it could be a meaningful game. We could be going for win 6 or 7 at that point and get some great publicity. I think this represents an excellent challenge for the Athletic Department to do something positive.

Not worried about the students showing up, their parties won't start till about 930 or 10 anyway. The regular poor showing will be there, and more fratastic guys will show b/c they can dress up and be on TV.
More worried about the Families and them bringing all the kids out.
Looking forward to it.

I got it!!!!!!!!!! Get out of Class free card for Wednesday with a stamped ticket. Hey why not? This could be a real embarrassment if we get 3,000 people-and it could happen-see Fresno circa 2000.

These days, most parents take their kids out trick or treating early, often to shopping malls or other "safe" trick or treating locales. This provides the perfect fun opportunity for parents and their kids. Bring the kids to the Boulevard for trick or treating before the game. Everyone with a tent better be prepared for that. I know I'll be arranging to take off work early myself.

Then they've got a safe, interesting, fun place to go after they're done trick or treating.

I think the SMU students love a scene, as shown by the PJ party basketball game a few years ago, and will turn out to be on national tv on Halloween. The parties will most likely be the weekend before anyway, and any night of parties will start later than a 6:30 game should end.

Design a get out of class wrist band that coincidently looks just like the "I'm 21 and can drink legally" wristband. That should give them no excuses and the best of all worlds.

Parents are always looking for something wholesome for their kids to do on Halloween, so why not a football game with treats, costumes, etc.

Get the student body there with a challenge to set a guinness record for the largest college Halloween Party...32,000. 8)

I'll be there with my kids, but I guarantee you I'll be one of the few. Halloween is too much of a neighborhood gathering event these days. Even if some people want to go, they will say to themselves there are 5 other football games per season to go to, but only one Halloween night. No matter what you do even your season ticket holding families will end up choosing block parties, church events or group trick or treating.
