Ok I'm a little crazy but I think it would be fun to get Prof X and the BUS to suit up and help the D-Line practice. I think between us we have a FEW plays in these old worn out bodies.
This is a Joke but, what is the team going to do to push the O-Line to get better. Hawaii and others have D-lines that go at 320 and more. SMU lining up against 250 and 230 in spring practice ain't going to help much. This is my opinion only and a little funny.
But it would be kind of fun! PRod X knows nothing of this post - He's fairly sane.

I have to assume you mean that in relative terms...I mean, who's watching the asylum these days?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Gentlemen,
I believe the largest spring game attendance in many, many years is likely should the two of you dress out!
Good Luck.

Do you think he could be talked into this?
The sanity issue is open for discussion

I don't know BUS, PX barely has time for sleep as it is...not sure how he would squeeze it in. His sanity level is probably close to yours (not a flame) so he would probably get a kick out of doing it. Do they make uniforms his size???

I hate to be the wet blanket, but I believe what you are suggesting is against NCAA rules. I really dont think people who have run out of eligibility can participate in practice. It sounds like fun, but I doubt the coaches would go for it.
My sister gets married on April 12th, in Shreveport. I wont be at the Spring Game.

they used to be able to play in Varsity/Alumni games because that's where that country singer-darn-forgot his name-big time singer and former OU player-broke his leg in the OU Spring Game just a few year ago.

I remember that. SMU had a varsity/alumni game once in 1986, I believe. Thats where I got my first Hacksaw Duggan autograph. ponyte played in that game, too. Then there was an alum vs. alum game one year during the DP, but they havent done it since. Miss. State had a varsity/alumni game a few years ago, but I dont think they do it every year.
I'll look up the actual rule, if you like. But I am 95% sure that players who have finished with their eligibility arent allowed to practice with the team. I had this discussion last spring with someone who thought we should play exhibition games against high school and pro teams, and i had to explain that rules prohibited football teams from playing the same type of exhibition games that soccer and basketball do. I'll try to find the exact rule again.

Its okay with me if you and BUS do it on the 5th and not the 12th.
That way, you can go to the wedding and I can stay home and receive a cousin who has not visited in many years.
Hoping your rules search yields a useful answer.
